    Because if you didn't Intro, the monkey wouldn't have a job.

    And I've seen the monkey when he gets bored -- he bites people, and tries to eat out their eyes, and one time he even ate a post

    But usually he just spams you. So don't forget to give him his cookie or whatever.

    You do not have to do an intro, but it makes it easier for the other members of the boards to get to know a little about you before. Its your chance at a first impression that will be forever stored in electric format and be pulled up to your embarrassment when years later you are running for public office.
