Things you love to hear - things you hate to hear

Inspired by the 'phrases you hate to say' and 'phrases you hear a lot' threads.

What do people say that upset you or make you mad, or that you think are just plain stupid?

What do people say that makes you respect them, like them, or that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside?

What do you love to hear, and what do you hate to hear?

i dislike hearing people talk negatively about someone...even if i don't know the person they are talking about...my mind instantly thinks of a million reasons the person they are gossiping about acted or said the things...it's like my mind instantly jumps to the defence of the person being 'attacked' as if i can somehow put myself in their shoes and feel i understand how things could appear as they do to others...maybe its because i think there is sooo much more to people than we realise...they maybe struggling internally with something we can't even comprehend or care to know :(

What do people say that makes you respect them, like them, or that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside?
When people excitedly share their dreams and future goals...i adore listening to them passionately share what they would love to be doing years from now...even if it may seem an impossible dream i just sit in awe at this person telling me all the details of something so precious to them :D

It upsets me when people make negative or judgmental comments on other someone that we mutually know, as if saying things that puts others down benefits their self image or something. I dislike snap assumptions without any backing or evidence, and I also dislike it when people assume they know what's best for everyone. I dislike insensitivity towards other life forms as well.

What do people say that makes you respect them, like them, or that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside?
When people open up something intimate and personal about themselves, share their experiences of the past, overcoming hardships, or dreams and ideals. I appreciate honesty and being upfront, without beating around bushes or sugar-coating things. I think ISFPs are good at telling when something being said is from the heart or not. I admire sensitivity towards others and the ability to say 'I don't know.' I like hearing original thoughts, when someone says something because they truly mean it from the root of their being because of personal observation, not because it's what they've been taught to think. :3 I feel warm just thinking about it.

I hate hearing 'useless'. I'm not sure why, but it really strikes a chord with me, and I find myself getting upset.

I like hearing sincerity in others' voices. It's a sensitive sound, and not really something I can relate in words, but when it's there, I feel very warm and humble.

ooh i thought of something else people say that upsets me or makes me mad...

"you have to much free time on your hands" when in reference to people sharing something that may have taken them an age to complete...just because to them it seems unimportant...like say a lifesize transformer made entirely of lego! i just feel it is a way of ridiculing or putting down the other person for doing something they love and enjoy because the other person sees no value in it...

    What makes me upset:
    - A lot of politicians' words, which are fake and manipulative in general.
    - Sexist. Men looking down upon women, saying they are stupid, ignorant, that they should just stay home being a housewife.
    - Racism in an unconscious way, by which I mean they don't intend to make a racist statement but their words show their unconscious racist mind.
    - Arrogance. People looking down upon others in general.
    - Laughing at the poor/ social injustice/ international injustice, saying that "haha, that's how things work. There is no justice in the world and international governmental relationship." Don't get me wrong, I think this is TRUE, but I'm upset by it, by reality, by the person saying this, and by the fact that a lot of people think this way.

What do people say that makes me respect and like them:
I respect a lot of people, and I generally don't hate people around me, but what make me really like them has to be achieved through personal interaction, and more respect and likeness come from deep friendship.

    Specifically:
    - Words from people with depth, with rich life experience.
    - A person talking about his/ her passion of fighting for the poor, dealing with poverty, in a genuine, concrete, and practical way.
    - Just one's life and story from people I know well.

For example, there is a woman that I have been close to for almost twenty years (I'm 22 now which means basically my whole life). We are not in the same generation--she is 24 years older than me. When I was a kid, maybe our relationship was not like friendship, but in recent years we become friends in the common sense.
She belongs to the working class. She has two kids, and her husband is not able to work at day because of some kind of chronic disease, so she also works full time. The environment is very tough to her in a lot of other ways, but yet she endures, she works hard and faithfully, and she is extremely kind to the point that it always put her in disadvantage. This is the kind of person that I greatly respect and like, and I feel so lucky to have her as friend. I think her life deserves a biography.

    - What makes me feel warm would definitely be kind words and appreciation for me, and genuine kind word towards the others. But if the kindness and appreciation are too strong I will feel upset.
