    What is Your Love Language

Niss63 mentioned in another post that his love language was touch. He was referencing The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman, which states that there are five ways in which a person experiences love:

    1. Words of Affirmation
    2. Gifts
    3. Acts of Service
    4. Quality Time
    5. Physical Touch

A person can experience love in all five ways, but there is one that is their primary.

So, what is your love language? If you are unsure, you can take the assessment at The 5 Love Languages? | Five Love Languages

Mine is touch, with Words of Affirmation as a close second. Cuddling with a Significant Other is nirvana.

You know the crazy thing about this is that my love language is touch and SWMBO struggles so much with touch--it's easy for her to get the "smothered" feeling going. OTOH, hers is Words of Affirmation--an anathema to an ISTJ who feels false and trite for expressing thanks and positive feedback for every little thing done.

So we both have to work at it--a lot!

Quality time is my main one. I rarely ever initiate spending time with someone, so if I do, it means I really like them. Most of the time I prefer to do things by myself or wait to be invited by someone else. I am also a very private person so if I am spending time with them it shows that they are important to me to let them really get to know me.

The least for me would probably be words of affirmation. I don't even like receiving a lot of it because, to me, actions speak louder than words

and I love cuddling too, of course!

    Your Scores
    6 Words of Affirmation
    8 Quality Time
    0 Receiving Gifts
    4 Acts of Service
    12 Physical Touch
Interpreting and Using Your Profile Score
The highest score indicates your primary love language (the highest score is 12). It’s not uncommon to have two high scores, although one language does have a slight edge for most people. That just means two languages are important to you.

The lower scores indicate those languages you seldom use to communicate love and which probably don’t affect you very much on an emotional level. Click Next to learn more about your primary love language and how to put it to use.

I'd label myself as cuddle monster, as I've seen other ISTJs describe it as.

Acts of service I think would be my love language...but I have a few friends who love "words of affirmation", etc. So I try and figure out how they like to be shown affection, then show affection, even if it's not all that natural to me. Seriously, I've had my ribs crushed more than one time by an ESFP on a sugar high xP

I think we have all of these languages but its just that one or maybe two are more dominant. I use words of affirmation alot with friends and family because I know its the thing they need most at that time.

Words of Affirmation would be my primary language, followed closely by physical touching. Serve that up on a combo platter and you are talking my language!
