    What are ISTPs really like?

I'm an ENFx and I hear all these stereotypes about ISTPs like the whole serial killer one and stuff like that, but I know that's not true. You guys are probably the type I know the least about, but I'd like to know more. I have some questions for you guys.

    1. What do you guys do when you feel emotions strongly? How do you react to them? Do you suppress them and how do you eventually handle them?

    2. Are you a guy or a gal?

    3. What do you do for a living?

    4. Have you ever loved someone romantically? If so, how did it go?

    5. Would you say you have a lot of friends?

    6. Is your circle of close friends big or small?

Thanks in advance! I'd love to hear more :)

    1) I don't tend to do this but when I do, I tend to rationalize them and then find an appropriate solution to feeling them as they usually don't help. I often find the emotions I feel for other people's situations greater than ones I feel in situations involving myself.
    2) I'm a gal my pal
    3) I am a personal trainer and I am going back to school for dietetics.
    4) Yeah, my boyfriend of 9 years, he's a really mellow esfp and we have the same sense of humor. Honestly I think having the same sense of humor is one of the most important things when it comes to long term compatibility or even compatibility in general.
    5) Yes, I make friends with people very easily but...
    6) ...smol, very smol.

If you don't know anything, how do you know it isn't true?

Going to venture a guess that what you think isn't true is true more often than not ... but anyway.

    1) See here and following. TL;DR: I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't. In that order.
    2) See profile.
    3) Scientist.
    4) Don't actually know, too much of a sliding scale.
    5) No.
    6) See 5.

    1. Live them. The more you fight the stronger they get. So accept them, just try not to do dumb things because of them (which is the hard part).

    2. Guy

    3. Civil servant, however I use my time at work to learn about interests. Used to learn about training and nutrition, but I got it all figured out, so lost interests. Now it is more psychology and economics to try to make money on the stock market (which forces me to control emotions ironically).

    4. Yes, It worked out terribly. Cause: romance and relationships are skills, I lacked in both categories, so it was David vs. Goliath, I never stood a chance.

    5. Not really. I know a lot of people, but I don't really allow them in my life and spend time on them. Which is my definition of friends.

    6. I have 6 people. More than enough.

    1. I act on them. Suppressing your emotions is stupid and even ISTPs need to feel things out. Anyone who disagrees is probably one of the younger ISTPs.

    2. Dude

    3. CNC Machinist

    4. Yes, and ended horribly

    5. Yes

    6. Pretty large

    1. It depends.

    2. Ladything

    3. Market research

    4. I had a one-sided unconfessed hidden love affair for like.. a year. Predictably, it didn't go anywhere.

    5. A lot of friends, few if any close friends.

    6. Nonexistent? lol That would probably offend some of my friends, but I feel like I hide most of my real self even from people who want to be close to me.

    1. What do you guys do when you feel emotions strongly? How do you react to them? Do you suppress them and how do you eventually handle them?

I collapse into myself and become irrational, hesitant and calm. If pressured I get pissed AF, "Leave me alone!"-reactions, if still pressured I get voilent.
I need to spend an amount of time ALONE in a stress-free environment to process my emotions and mind.

What type of emotions am I talking about? The traumatic kind. The strongest of emotions one can feel.
Above is an extreme example becuase it needs to be extreme in order to get any reactions from me.

    2. Are you a guy or a gal?
    Irrelevant.

    3. What do you do for a living?
    Janitor/Caretaker/Facility management.

    4. Have you ever loved someone romantically? If so, how did it go?
    No.

    5. Would you say you have a lot of friends?
    Got enough.

    6. Is your circle of close friends big or small?
My cirle of friends is tiny, my circle of acquaintances is HUGE.

    1. What do you guys do when you feel emotions strongly? How do you react to them? Do you suppress them and how do you eventually handle them?
I usually do not understand my emotions right away, especially when they are strong. I react to them with confusion and I need to take time alone in order to process them. I don't try to suppress them when I am in public but I don't think that people usually notice how I am feeling.

    2. Are you a guy or a gal?
This is a question I don't personally answer. I prefer letting people assume my gender.

    3. What do you do for a living?
I am a full-time student, but I work a couple of part-time jobs at my school.

    4. Have you ever loved someone romantically? If so, how did it go?
I have never been in a romantic relationship because I find myself incapable of opening up to that extent.

However, I have had several strong infatuations. They did not go anywhere and eventually I suppressed those feelings naturally, knowing there was no chance with them.

    5. Would you say you have a lot of friends?
    Haha no.

    6. Is your circle of close friends big or small?
    What friends?

    1. I usually hide my emotions in public. Then I lock myself somewhere and turn those emotions into anger... Because anger is much easier to understand. Then I think about it for a while and move on.

    2. Cutie boi

    3. I sell electronics

    4. Yeah, still working on it so we'll see

    5. Please, don't say the F-word!

    6. Wait, is that a sex thing? If so, I'm sure mine is pretty big (but seriously, IRL friends: a big fat 0, online: less than 5)
