I'm not trying to make this yet another jobs/careers thread or a personal thing, so here we go...
I've been like many other ISTPs trying to find the right career after some career sampling and taking the wrong direction (have a Bachelor's, got some work in the field and either disliked it or couldn't find full-time work). So after taking the time to go through the typing, Holland Codes and finding the positives in past work experiences, I'm come to realize all the viable, personally interesting careers have limited secure job prospects or they are located in job fields that aren't going to experience job growth anytime soon unlike like something the healthcare industry has to offer. Maybe its my "realistic" mindset that drives me away from following my true ambitions.
So, I was wondering if other ISTPs have come to realization and have "settled" or taken a career path not ideal work because it was financially/conveniently/securely better?
In other words, have you pin-pointed your ideal/dream career, but went for something more realistic/conventional? Also, do you find you like the "idea" of certain jobs? (i.e. I always think I would love a career in Recreation of some sort, but after further thought, I would rather be the one participating in it rather than the one putting it all together).
