Haha, have you ever done that and five minutes later after you finished doing whatever, you vaguely recall having a conversation but you have no idea about what?

Every goddamned time. It doesn't help that others don't notice and assume I know what they actually said.

then yes, i meant conscious multitasking.
i looked for the talk but couldn't find it… but it said pretty much the same as Mark McGuinness here
I guess I treat the talking as background tasking then.

I'm very good at filtering all but key words, therefore I can usually regurgitate some of them but they're usually in the wrong order and I miss a very important one (typically the first one, because by then I haven't really clocked that they've started talking and I need to take mental notes).

Also @ thread: go see Django Unchained!

.. when you really beat yourself down for being too over-analytical and hesitant.

.. when you spend afternoons doing not a lot and realise you wasted loads of time only afterwards.

.. when you ask someone to do something with you, they say they can do it later on, but you don't want to do it any more.

.. when your meals are when you're hungry, instead of having a structure. Also, anything for dinner is possible.

.. when you loop a song that makes you feel energetic and happy.

.. when people admire the way people just don't 'get to you', like working in customer service.

.. you've heard a lot of 'you'd make a good <insert thing here>' sentences. (most recent: policeman, first aider)

.. when you're good at taking bits of things lying around to temporarily mend things or create an easier way to work.

.. when you easily see the way in which inefficient, wordy paperwork could be shortened and streamlined.

Specific to me, I want to slap people who come to my till at work and disagree over who's paying. "Please, take this money". "No, I'm paying! I insist!"
Please just put some money in my hand so I can serve the guy behind you, jeez.

im really glad im not the only one that does this, i was starting to think i was retarded or something, especially when ppl call me out on it. like at work the other day.

kitchen manager: remember when i said this about that(dont actually remember what he said)
me: no i have no idea what your talking about
other dish washer: damn dude, he said it like ten minutes ago
me: yea i know, i only listen like half the time

when ever they say something to me and i dont hear them, i now just refer to it as "being in the zone"

    Thank you Antrist! so true..

...any type of argument shuts me down. My response - I'm not gonna waste my time with this - and I walk out.
...I'm single and I love it. Don't know why everyones hyping about relationships. They just mean a whole lot of drama to me.
...I'd be game for one though. I just need my space. And I've still got so much planned but a commitments not the first on my list.
...when I have money, I spend it on traveling. When I have a little left, I spend it on food and clothes.
...I love working on tech things. Be it car, computer, tools... you name it.
...people laugh about the not funniest things I say. They're blunt things but nothing funny. Often I don't get whats so funny..
...I wonder why people make life so damn complicated for themselves. Sit back, folks. Take a beer.
Antrist, troutbum and Nubb thanked this post.

This brought a smile to my face. My ISTP friend will say to me, "I'm gonna tell you what I think, then you're gonna cry and then you'll get over it." (or some other thing that will happen after) And he means it. In a few words, he usually hits on something, which will hurt. Or else he is totally wrong, which will piss me off. I cry either way. No one else makes me cry. I do think he is slightly amused by this. But I think he is horrified when it happens unexpectedly.
