All are true of me, can others relate?

    - You can do the best 'Almeida stare' when pissed off.*
    - You set out to fix something and end up breaking it, only to do the same thing again shortly after.
    - Intuition causes you to say '...but how does that look practically?'.
    - The sight/sound of a v8 engine causes you to going into 'that mode'.
    - Listening to certain music sometimes makes you secretly very powerful.
    - A number of people express that they'd like you to have their back when WWIII breaks out.
    - You can leave people speechless using three words or less.
    - Saving the day often becomes your responsibility, and begrudginly you do what's necessary.
    - You have a thing for girls who are 'badass'.
    - Technology is your slave.
    - You really are too cool for school...the workplace...and just about everywhere else.
    - When making the least effort, women seem to flock to you.
    - When asked to "talk about your feelings more"...and your mind thinks 'please die'.
    - You'd probably lay down your life for your closest friends.

*See Tony Almeida from 24 to understand this.

    - sometimes you just hate people - everyone and anyone; they should all just go shut themselves in the room and stop making so much noise
    - you don't understand why people can sit around and talk about nothing for more than 15 mins
    - you don't like to read between the lines; if someone has something to say, he/she should just say it, don't beat around the bush
    - think with your head, not your heart - accord the brain its true function, and same for the heart
    - you hate the stupid group-hug thing and 'fuzzy feelings' (whatever those are)
    - when you are asked to do something, you need to know exactly why you're doing it and it has to be a damn good reason
    - thrash the instruction manual
    - if a relationship fails, you cry and then the next day you move on
    - you hate your partner to be sticky, whiney, weak and dependent
    - you hate it when people ask how you FEEL - how the hell would you know?!?!!?
    - you don't feel a need to explain or defend your own actions, if people want to misunderstand, that's their issue to deal with, not yours
    - peer pressure doesn't exist
    - you hate planning
    - freedom is priceless; anyone who tries to cramp your style will be kicked out of your life so fast their head will spin
    Yep, yep, yep.

Except the moving on after a relationship thing. Every relationship before this most recent one, I was done grieving within about 29 minutes. This one... I don't even recognize myself. Why didn't I date someone completely expendable again? FML.

You know you're an ISTP when:

you firmly decide to retake the MBTI test and answer every single question 100% honestly, without analyzing which function is every question for and keeping in mind that these answers will most probably throw you out of this comfortable label - and you STILL score as an ISTP! (I was honestly surprised, because I admitted large number of aquaintances, having order ticks etc. and I expected any crazy combination ... but I stand my ground!)

... when asked why you don't like cooking, you explain that most kitchen appliances "are severely lacking in horsepower".

... you spray bathroom cleaner in the bathroom using a super soaker.

... when in a large building, you must resist the temptation to explore the maintenance shafts.

    Are these ISTP characteristics?

Ok, maybe I'm just strange, but I'm wondering do any other ISTP have these?
    • Very large paintings
    • All paintings, pictures, artwork, wall deco hung too high --- according to other people's standards
    • Fixation with having the right pen and pencil
    • leather bound journals or notebooks

My ISTP ex husband hangs all his framed art WAY too high - roughly 3" from the ceiling. Every piece. Looks stupid.

Then again, I never decorate at all. I put time into things that are practical, and aesthetics always take a back seat.

I have a really big thing for office accessories, so "fountainpens" (are they really called like that?), leather notebooks etc ... a very big yes. But the decoration - I don't have much stuff that don't have other purpose than being pretty, except for the painting of my heart. But what is the "too high --- according to other people's standards"? I've never heard of such a definition.
    Ravenswood thanked this post.
