Considering how lifeless and soul drained most characters are in anime, I think they're just ISTPs by a curse known as bad writing and lazy animation.
Western media is usually far worse with it IMO. Especially in regards to plot-lines.

I would also like to make a case for Levi, the only thing that seems to be against the ISTP, from what I read in the first few pages, is his need for cleanliness. I don't think that is enough to put him off from being ISTP, as I most certainly get that way. Not about everything per say, but I have those areas in my room or around the house that I like to have my certain way, or they bug me.

Fair enough. He does have his reasons for wanting it to be clean. I have my reasons for wanting stuff to be in a way and I'm very constitent in my habits. I guess cleaning is a habit of his. Or just a funny tweak to the character which the author added.

I've also decided that Shikamaru is an ISTP.

This feels very me-ish, so ISTP-ish. We should jsut say that all cool charcters that everyone fangirls/fanboys over and puts into to many shippin stuff are ISTP.

Whoa whoa whoa....if you wanted a good story, read books.

Or wait for a Disney release.

What are you, a nerd? I'm bad with remember names and people in real life, it is about twice as bad when I'm trying to read a book. Tried to read Game of Thrones, I really can't, I could have sworn a character died already, I even forget that particular characters even existed.

Books are preferable, when there are books I am actually interested in reading out. Doesn't help that going back to college killed my interest in reading due to having to read constantly to make the grade.

After watching that clip again, I am not sure how anyone could peg her as INTP... Def ISTP.

She is mostly labeled as an ISTJ though.

I am privy to an explanation that a blogger expressed since I had made similar points before.

    As follows...

"The ISTJ dominant function is Si and Mikasa exemplifies this by rigidly living to the rules she’s set in her mind. Eren is her brother (More or less) and she knows this. He knows she respects what he told her and she believes it to be true. Fact.
If you were to base everything you think and believe as what you know to be true, your life would be easily summarized by the few things that you’ve filed away as “Truth.” You know how you don’t really have an opinion on some things and what you’re told about those things can be fairly easily swayed by what you hear someone else say about it?"

"Well, ISTJ doesn’t do that. They know what they know and everything is like dinnerware they’re waiting for you to finish placing so they can yank the cloth out from underneath. Anything that isn’t left, even if it’s by their own clumsiness, is something they don’t think they need. So it makes for a pretty simple person all in all because they only let in the things they’ve been believing in and then a few things here and there that look similar enough to what they already know."

"Her tertiary Fi is shown if not only by way of seeming cold and distant at nearly all times."

    In regards to the clip...

"Since the ISTJ is as disciplined as they are, when Mikasa believes Eren to be dead, she doesn’t break down like she may want to do but she keeps Eren’s words alive by remembering that his death doesn’t mean what he said wasn’t true. She knows she wouldn’t be following what he’d said if she gave up after his death so she takes the responsibility of saving the day and a bunch of lives."

Take it as you will though. But remember that the motivations (Her's being Eren) are just as important as the characteristics. In tandem with the functional processes as well.
