I’m not as distrustful, but I do research stuff on my own or I’ll ask a few different people to see the ratio of agreement/disagreement before I make a decision.
It is not about distrust. It is about ISTP being fiercely independant. That is one of the reasons (I think), we want to know everything about stuff that is going on in our life. Can we fix it ourselfs or do we need an outsider? And if we need an outsider, how do we determine if that person is capable? So we would still want to know everything, so we can ask critical question in order to test the person.

I currently have a medical thing, which i cannot solve and it annoys the living shit out of me.

I have a suspicion what the cause is, but I am not sure. And the person helping me now, I don't really connect with either, because she doesn't understand that I need clear answers, not some vague ones, like "could be", "it might".
I have a limited insured visits and there is too little info to determine if she knows what she's doing and has a plan.

This really bugs me and is not good for my mood. I am pretty snappy the last couple of days.

    Hey INFP here :D.

I wanted to ask how you solve problems. Like how do you know that you have all the information you need to solve a problem?
That's something I really need to work on because I tend to think too much before actually taking action and doing something.

Thank you for a deeper explanation.

And I feel ya, medical matters are extremely frustrating. I live in Canada so medical cost isn’t as bad for me, but I still get really frustrated because they don’t take action unless it is an emergency or if you’ve made 4 appointments for the same thing...then they get tired of you and decide to look further into it.

Also, counselling and therapy can also being annoying in the sense that when I’m looking for advice they respond with, “Go with what feels right” or “it is your truth so it’s the truth” and they just always agree with anything I say. I guess even though I’m an INFP I go to therapy to actually get practical help and not just for the sake of telling someone my problems when they can’t help me or at least give me some solid advice. :3

We have a decent solution. Thassit.

Social problems are a bit trickier.

Lol. If I had all the information to solve the problem, then it wouldn't be a problem in the first place, would it? XD

A problem is a problem because you don't know how to solve it. There are, however, certain strategies you use. And all of them start with taking whatever isn't working completely apart.

    De nada.

Pfff, I know. I've learned one thing: if the first treatment does not bring improvement of some sort, forget it.

I had constipation. Never had that before, I eat perfectly well. So that couldn't be the cause either. Had an echo, a colonoscopy. Nothing to be found.

In that case it can be only one thing: a muscle problem. So I diagnosed myself with pelvic floor muscle dyssynergia.

But, I cannot solve it myself. No I have a therapist and she wants me to put my hand under my ass to feel the pelvic floor. I do that and I don't feel anything. Now I need to do it again. 4 Sessions and the actual therapy hasn't even started. But I have no actual data to compare, whether she is doing the right thing, because I can't find any. That really annoys me.

I am a logical person so, wishy washy comments like " go what feels right", makes me run. I don't want feeling, I wanted substantiated solutions.

This is really one of the few times, when it is annoying to be an ISTP.

Canadian too. I get frustrated with the lack of action too.
If only they realized how much of a problem it has to be before you schedule appointment 1.

Fuck 'go with what feels right'.
How about go with a plan of action based on logic and reasoning?

I recently took a leadership style evaluation. I scored low in the 'Go with your gut' and 'Follow your heart' styles.
I consider that a compliment. The fuck kind of fluff is that anyway?

Yup. I’ve also learned real quick I have to be pushy or else nothing will get done, and I’m not a naturally pushy person so it is annoying to have to be. One time when I was about 10 they asked my mom if I was faking symptoms for attention. She got upset so they took a Cat Scan and MRI on me. I went from “you are faking” to “you can’t leave the hospital until you have emergency surgery and you can’t even have a shower without a neck brace because you might paralyze yourself for life with one wrong move.” And I’ve had more than one instance like that.

    Me too.
FFS do they think people just love going to the doctor for attention?

I'm in BC, but from Alberta.
