I have met only a couple of managers who combined logic and reasoning. They reason a lot, but most of the time it is just not logical and most of the time they don't have a vision either.
But what is even rarer: I cannot remember to have ever met a manager who combined logic and reasoning with people skills. It is hardly possible since they are generally contradicting skills.
Get that and you will be highly succesful.
Another problem with logic and reasoning (assuming they have both) is garbage in garbage out... It may end up taking everyone with you to some strange places. Learned it first hand from somebody when they screwed up. I'm afraid this is an obvious trap for many know-it-all kind of managers especially if they have been fairly successful in their academics.
How can one tell if an ISTP is being friendly vs wanting to be someone's friend?
And would an ISTP talk to someone (that they don't have to) out of boredom? Would you talk to others/appear more sociable in front of someone you want to impress or nay?
If you mean regular silence, same thing, except no explosion. ISTPs can be the most taciturn persons you can find. If no information needs to be conveyed, I'm perfectly content to have no words in-between Good Morning and Good Night. There are other ways to bond. Shared moments, experiences, mostly. I like being around people who are comfortable with silences.
If an ISTP hurts someone's feelings with the honest truth/a statement not meant to but does cause someone to slink away, what about that person would prompt the ISTP to reach out/reconnect?
What about an extrovert would an ISTP put up with to enjoy socializing with them if they happen to be *too* talkative?
