Game review thread-mandatory for all games

Game mods please post here a game that you want to be reviewed, and include the following info

    1. Open/semi-open/closed
    2. experimental/custom/traditional

Also have the game template filled out for review. In the OP the info doesnt have to be in that format, just all the elements per the set up

A game reviewer will look at balance, roles, night actions, win-cons ect. After its been looked at then the game can be submitted into the que

@Chris @TrippedOnReality and @Fable Wolf are taking this on; one will post quote to let you know that they are doing handling that particular game.

    Thanks

I feel like I'm being punished for something I didn't do. What if I want Chris, TrippedOnReality, and Fable Wolf to all be in a game make? Unless my game is open, this makes it impossible.

I feel like Day 1 Canceled is my big screw up game. And then 7 Minutes in Heaven 2 would be my runner up for messed up game.

But part of being mod is making some of those mistakes and growing from them. It's also about learning what your audience likes and dislikes.

Also, where does one place their template? Like if I want to mod a closed/semi closed/experimental/custom game of sorts, I can't just post all that information into this thread as that would break the game.

I mainly talking about "set up info" and "additional info and additional rules" parts of the template.
@Siggy is this thread just for stating 1 and 2, and then waiting one of Chris, TrippedOnReality, and Fable Wolf to pick up your game and listen and discuss it's potential balance?

Do the experienced Mods have to this as well?

    @lost monkey , yes

    Everyone

Having another set of eyes, and a fresh look at the game can only help.

Sorry I didnt address this earlier

"But part of being mod is making some of those mistakes and growing from them"

Lets learn from the mistakes before the game runs and not after. We
get wanting freedom as a mod, but at some point players have a right to expect you to have your stuff together.

It's also about learning what your audience likes and dislikes.

See above. This isnt a crackdown on creativity, but as I posted earlier the opportunity for another set of eyes to see any potential problems.

Just a word from me on how I'm approaching this.

I know a lot of nontraditional setups get run here and I'm going into this with that in mind. Ideally I'd like to look at most setups and either say "this is fine" or "this one specific thing seems a bit iffy just tweak that and you're okay" I'm certainly not looking to crack down on creativity at all and I'm going to try to be as hands off as I can and let mods do their thing.

That being said I think this change is necessary because sometimes some idea just arn't going to work out and it's better to find them and rework them beforehand rather than having to let players deal with them and have a bad experience. The idea here isn't to change the type of setups that get run at all. It's to proofread setups so things go smoothly during games and if mistakes happen to let them happen during the review process because you can fix things easily during that process and it's much harder to do anything once the game has already started.

    This.

I come from a site with almost exclusively original, complex roles. A lot were fun. Most worked. Some did not. And it sucks knowing you were guaranteed to lose because of a faulty role... but not knowing until you invested a hundred hours of effort.

So I hope any feedback I give is not restricting creativity or freedom... that's not my intent or desire. I don't want to turn every game into some cookie cutter prefab. But the more complex things get, the harder balance is to maintain. And yeah, it IS subjective, but there are certain things that just are rough.

I want to double check if my game is balanced enough. I've added more VT's because of SC his input, but I would appreciate a third opinion.

I need to PM Tripped, Chris and Fable all of them, or one, or what?
