This member has been a fun addition to the forum, providing a lighthearted perspective that many others appreciate. One member commented that this month's winner "has made lots of friends in the Game Forum, among others, due to his super-awesome personality!" So without further ado, let's congratulate our spooktacular winner for the month of October:@Frosty
Motto: "A Bird in One Hand Isn't Worth Two Bats in the Belfry"
What's your real name?
How old are you?
What country are you situated in?
Are you single, dating, or married?
Do you have any kids?
How would you describe yourself in one word?
What is your favorite place to travel to?
I'd have to say Germany because I have lived there a few times (as an "Army Brat"). There are tons of places I haven't been and would like to travel to, of course.
What is your favorite color?
This varies quite often. Turquoise and burnt orange or dark purple and forest green. I like to pair the colors up rather than have one color on it's own.
What is your favorite weather?
Around 50 degrees, light snowfall, cloudy overcast, slight layer of fog in the street lights.
What are your favorite books, movies, tv shows, and video games?
Books: Books about nature and astronomy. I tend to read non-fiction material much more than fiction.
Movies: To name a few off the top o' me head: The Godfather, Santa Sangre, Gridlock'd, The Killing Fields, Sling Blade, Raising Arizona, Ghost World, A Nightmare On Elm Street 3 and 4, Hobo With a Shotgun, Short Circuit, Repo Man (1984 movie), The Good The Bad and The Ugly, Howl's Moving Castle, Full Metal Jacket, Godzilla flicks, Watch Me Jumpstart, Coming To America, Blood on the Mountain, Screaming Fields of Sonic Love, The Terminator, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Buffalo 66, Life Is Beautiful, Tokyo Godfathers...the list could go on forever and skipped a bunch of important ones. It doesn't matter what genre of film, from pretentious artsy fartsy to big stupid boneheaded action flick.
TV Shows: Trailer Park Boys, I Love Lucy, Squidbillies, Jacques Pepin, Boardwalk Empire, Joy of Painting, Saturday Night Live (sometimes), Kids In The Hall, South Park, Tales From the Crypt, Twilight Zone, Jack Horkheimer: Star Gazers (lol), cheezy public access shows, Ren & Stimpy, Sir David Attenborough nature documentaries and just about any nature documentary.
Video Games: Dig Dug, Ghouls n' Ghosts, Populous, Rampage, Tetris, Bubble Bobble, etc. I'm not much of a modern gamer but I love the old stuff.
What are your favorite foods and beverages?
Seafood. Spinach in a can. German beer. (without getting too fancy about it)
What is your favorite animal?
All of them are fascinating! I'm quite interested in many different types of bird species. Cats are awesome too.
What kind of music do you enjoy?
A favorite band of mine would be Guided by Voices. I also really dig (the) Melvins and Cocteau Twins. Some others: Johnny Cash,Neko Case, N.W.A., Sleater-Kinney, Pink Floyd, Melt-Banana, Steely Dan, Sonic Youth, Halo Benders, Unwound, Journey, The Pogues, Star Pimp, Stevie Wonder, Bangs, Sara McLachlan, Rod Stewart, Primus, Flaming Lips, Stereo Total, Killing Joke, Weird Al, The Damned, Fitz, Dream Academy, Beck, Natalie Merchant, Alice Cooper, Dead Kennedys, The Three O' Clock, Captain Beefheart, Boredoms, Blind Dog, Pixies, Kyuss, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, REM, Oggatron, Pavement, Cheap Trick, Dinosaur Jr., Hendrix, Karate, Sahara Hotnights, M83, .. Tons of others. I'll listen to anything, even if it's bad. I get a kick out of listening to cheesy 80s metal bands and downright absurd 90s undergrond gangsta rap artists. Pure comedy gold.
I also make my own music. Basically just slop shit on a 4 track or Audacity and give the compositions zany song titles. I like to make up nutty song titles, it's fun fun fun.
Do you play or follow any sports?
It depends. I suck at basketball but I can shoot three pointers like nobody's business.
What are your favorite websites to visit?
Personalitycafe.com, tumblr.com, youtube.com..... these are the three websites for which I'm usually millin' around in.
What is your greatest weakness?
Sometimes I feel my mind is a cluttered mess that can't properly convey thoughts into words and actions and that knocks me down. Also, blind optimism for sure.
What is your greatest strength?
I've been told many times that I'm real good at keeping cool in chaotic situations. Other than that, this is kind of a difficult brain scrambling question to answer at the moment.
What motivates you?
genuinely kind, empathetic sincere individuals/insane random junk poetry/music/AM radio jive when it doesn't come in good and instead you get the static and noise
What is your philosophy?
That's a tough one. Have to get back to you on that one over lunch or something.
What are you passionate about?
Whatever falls out of the pinata
What kinds of jobs have you had?
Temporary Lodging clerk, racket maker, local music promoter, video store manager, resident condiment replacer, data entry clerk, President of Antarctica, king of everything, blah blah blah
What are your pet peeves?
people who take pride in their ignorance. Belligerent inconsiderate assholes in general.
What are your fears?
irreversible failure. knife wielding maniacs. clown scorpions.
Who do you look up to?
Mad scientists. Jolly green giants on radioactive beanstalks. Heads floating around in the clouds.
Do you have any pets?
Yes. One cat. and a flock of feathered unicorn-cyclops hybrids from Jupiter.
What do you do for fun and relaxation?
play guitar, hanging out with other boring freaks of nature, holding hands with Cthulhu, long walks on the beach, Vodka Volleyball.
How did you get involved with personality typing?
Several years ago a friend of mine forced me to take an MBTI test. I thought it was really neat-o. At first I kind of got the feeling that it was "pigeonholing" people until I made the effort to understand it more.
What is your Myers Briggs personality type?
Every test I've taken resulted in INFP. And basically I agree with the results.
What is your enneagram type?
I've yet to complete the entire ......oh, wait...look at the next question....
So what's it like being an INFP and an enneagram type four?
It's insane! I grow feathers in my armpits every morning and can shoot laser beams out of my nose.
Do you think the different personality theories give an accurate description of you?
Yes, from what I've read, I suppose so.
Which personality theory do you prefer, and why?
MBTI.....I've yet to really bumble down upon other theories.
Do you use personality typing in the real world?
Yeah, sometimes. It's fun to introduce MBTI personality typing to people I feel might be open to it.
Has personality typing helped you in any way?
I'd like to think so.
How did you initially find your way to PersonalityCafe?
Can't remember exactly. Twas a hot summer's day of 2010, I recall...probably stumbled upon it while searching INFP in the ol' google directory engine, or whatever you whippersnappers happen to call it these days *shakes cane*
What made you join us?
A quick electronic walkabout of the place convinced me to register.
Why did you choose "Frosty" as your username?
I formed a band called "The Poinsettias" and someone had joked that I should be nicknamed "Frosty". It's also a silly wordplay bastardization of my surname.
What is the significance of your current avatar?
It's my hand making a thumbs down gesture. I keep seeing the infamous facebook thumbs up symbol everywhere now. The other day I noticed this bumper sticker with the symbol on the back of a Volvo that said "You like this". That was the final straw, man. So I guess it's a minor Facebook protest? Eh.....
If you had to choose your favorite forum on PerC, which would it be?
The Game Forum by default. I'll also venture out into the INFP and Spam World nether regions. I've been known to make cameo appearances elsewhere such as General Chat and Entertainment Plaza.
What do you like most about PersonalityCafe?
Well, I've seen people help each other out with their problems and such. Overall a positive forum. Many interesting people on here. I admit, I haven't utilized it as much as I could, being the lowly game forum goblin that I am. Still surprised that I won member of the month. Rigged election? Ha! What, no MotM debates?
What do you dislike most about PersonalityCafe?
Oh, you know....like any social internet forum site.... pompous shitkickers and the occasional inconsiderate troll fuckwit. But individuals such as those can be fun to play with, much like how a house cat plays with a field mouse.
What is the most important thing you've learned here?
The personalities of different people from all over th' land an' seven seas.
Do you have any advice for the community of PersonalityCafe?
Keep on rockin' in the free world? I just heard that Neil Young song a few minutes ago.
If you could have any super power, what would it be?
Sneeze a bank roll worth of quarters out of my nose on command. Talk about breaking the ice in social situations!
What do you know now that you wish you'd known five years ago?
I dunno.....five years ago seems like just last weekend to me.
What do you believe is your greatest accomplishment at this point?
Well, I've yet to evolve gills or grow feathers but I'm working on it.
Tell us something about yourself that we don't already know.
I've never been to Nebraska.
What is next for you? What are your plans and goals for the future?
Next year's gonna be fantastic.
Give us your parting words.
