Here's data I've noted. Of course, different sources will likely have different percentages, In general, S's outnumber N's 3-1

And also this is both sexes combined. More women fall into F-types, and more men into T-types.

    ISTJ - 12%
    ESTJ -11%
    ISFJ - 10%
    ESFJ - 10%
    ESFP - 9.5%
    ISFP - 9%
    ISTP - 9%
    ESTP - 8%
    ENFP - 5.5%
    ENTJ - 3%
    ENTP - 3%
    ENFJ - 3%
    INTP - 2.5%
    INFP - 2%
    INTJ - 1.5%
    INFJ - 1%

    ^^^
I've seen some that put ENFPs as about 9% of the population...

Many of the lists I've seen vary greatly; so it gets confusing lol

I wouldn't put my wholehearted trust in these surveys...First, tests can often be an inacurrate judge, perhaps due to misinterpreation of questions, or to a flawed self-evauation and so forth, second, what size tests are they, third where are they being carried out - industries, countries, the internet? - fourth, results will possibly be subject to change over time, fifth, as has been said, the results seem to vary depending on the test.

Fuuurther more there's a lot of variation within type - cognitive functions, subtypes, health, enneagram etc.

Finally...for now...as has been said on another topic regarding percentages, each is a minority, and even with variation between culture, and in time, there're still going to be millions of people in 1%. A person can be a type representing the hugest veriety of person and still be an annomally and relate to few if no people.

My dad's a flaming ISTJ for instance, and he was known as 'Astral Al' during his younger years due to existing on some other straaaange plane of existence only he will ever understand >_>.

Here's what I suspect. These numbers are based on the U.S. Population and as all global typological surveys go, they are of dubious accuracy.

    Most common (in decending order)

    ESFJ
    ESTJ
    ESFP
    ESTP
    ENFJ
    ENFP
    ENTJ
    ENTP
    ISFJ
    ISTJ
    ISFP
    ISTP
    INFJ
    INFP
    INTP
    INTJ

I'm not going to give numbers because it's really hard to get an adequate representative sample for this type of thing.

Ah, all right, thanks for opening my eyes people. I've also noticed how different all the percentages were when looking around the internet. And some stats also may be outdated...

Liminality is probably right, there's just way too many variations, and everyone is unique. As I remember Anti-Helena saying... "There are not 16 different types of people in this world, there are 6 billion plus. MBTI is too basic, and people are too complex."

That's because they're the ones you notice the most. Doesn't mean there are actually more of them.

I'm not convinced that ISFJ and ISTJ are so low. There are many stats place them at the very top of the list.
