I don't appear to be one type, but an odd mixture of three?

Hello all, this is my first post on PC. I've been tested and taken the Myers-Briggs test before but I have received three results. I find I get INTJ-A most often, however I've been labelled as ISTP a few times and INTP once or twice. Whilst on one hand I do realise that what mood you're in when you take the test can and sometimes will have an effect, I did an experiment as to which I used different tests at different times of the day and in different mindsets, however I most commonly got INTJ.

However I find that I don't fit into the descriptions of an INTJ, an ISTP or an INTP but I have some attributes of each within my personality which appears to be a very odd and random mix of traits. Is it possible to not fit into a personality type? I did a little research on this but all I found was people claiming it was simply "impossible" not to fit into one of the sixteen Myers-Briggs types which admittedly wasn't very useful.

Are any of you like this?

You have to search more. Have you read about the cognitive functions?

It is possible to not fit into an MBTI type, yes. Literally no human being on this entire planet is exactly like an MBTI type. That would be a very unnatural and one-dimensional human. They would have no secret sides and just be some.. A4-paper you can see and there are no hidden parts. No dimensons.

I don't fit into any either. Read about functions. It will help you find what you are closest to. I personally feel like a mix of INFP, INTJ, INFJ and ENTJ.

Thing is, I feel that you haven't paid attention to what is tested or the tests you took framed it wrong. If you actually paid for a live session with an official MBTI practicioner, this convo wouldn't have existed in the first place. Because you'd either agree with him or you would not and yeah. Here is what it is all about:

It's about THE PREFERENCE. In every situation, you have several options to choose from. Act logically but cold. Act personally, but ineffective. Act warm, but not necessarily logically. Etc. It is out of your own accord, which would say preference that you act one way vs the other. Let's take an extreme example of F vs T:

"You have a section of people to save. By saving them, you earn their undying gratitude, but nothing really except that. And the wonderful feelings. On the other hand, you could use the war / the hostage crisis / etc as a screen / front and sacrifice those people so you could advance the agenda of you / your close ones. Which is only logical, seeing how you don't know any of those hostages and the way towards the big fat loot is clearly open due to chaos. Which one do you choose?"

This happens on such a large scale that it is sometimes hard to notice(the best way to hide something is to hide it in the plain sight). Anyhow:

tldr: It's about the PREFERENCES, not about the ABILITIES or anything like that.

UPDATE: I found another MBTI test online called "John's test"; it's a mathematically devised test that gives you a probability of which personality type you are. The following is my result:

    80% INTJ
    7% INFP
    7% INTP
    7% ISTP
    7% ENTP

for some odd reason it adds up to 108%, however I next read through an article on cognitive functions and next pages for all of the above personality types mentioned and I appear to have traits of all of them, however most strongly INTJ traits.
