Quite interesting. I believe that I'm part of the Rational temperament but, oddly, I have some of the Idealist qualities. I think I'm on a sort of border between believing that everything in the world should just be rational and wanting to help each person I encounter to improve their situation in some way. However, my desire to help people seems to be more rational... I don't just want to say whatever makes them happy, I want to make some kind of real change. To do that, I might have to make them a bit unhappy at first, but if the end result is that they improve and feel better, then I think that making them unhappy was the right choice. I dislike conflict and try to avoid it, but it's not something I fear. So maybe I'm expressing the Idealist through my main Rational tendency??

Thank you for posting this..I have the book Please Understand me 2 by David Keirsey. Wonderful informative tool that got me started on MBTI. That has branched out greatly and since then I have sought out many answers and my understanding of the self couldn't be better now. I love to read and talk about the cognitive functions as well, since that is a very important and vital part of it all.

Great article. I don't know that NFs are opposed to debate though. I engage in it here, as do many others.

That's a nice read. The conclusion pretty sums all being a part of a dreamer.
