Have you ever used dating sites for finding mate or flirting/dating?

The question is open for both genders. I have asked the same question in the NF forum also in a different topic.

    1. Have you ever used a dating site? If yes, for how long or how seriously did you take it?

    2. Did you date anybody found on the dating sites?

    3. Will you go back to the site again if you are alone?

    4. How do you prefer finding dates (friends of friends, colleagues, dating sites, hobby groups, clubs, memberships, etc)?

    5. How do you prefer being approached for a date?

    1. Have you ever used a dating site? If yes, for how long or how seriously did you take it?
    -Yes.
Just for about a few weeks now and I'm taking it fairly serious, less serious than when I started though. In all honesty, I wouldn't recommend it, at least for males anyways...

    2. Did you date anybody found on the dating sites?
    -Not as of yet.

    3. Will you go back to the site again if you are alone?
    -Don't know...

    4. How do you prefer finding dates (friends of friends, colleagues, dating sites, hobby groups, clubs, memberships, etc)?
-I'll let you know should I ever actually date someone...

    5. How do you prefer being approached for a date?
    -Haha, good one.

    1. Have you ever used a dating site? If yes, for how long or how seriously did you take it?
    Multiple for probably 6 months.

    2. Did you date anybody found on the dating sites?
Yes, met my wife on okcupid, that was my favorite site.

    3. Will you go back to the site again if you are alone?
Probably, but don't envision that being necessary as I am married.

    4. How do you prefer finding dates (friends of friends, colleagues, dating sites, hobby groups, clubs, memberships, etc)?
Dating site or mutual interest group.

    5. How do you prefer being approached for a date?
Straight forward question or I ask.

I don't use dating sites. I prefer doing everything in person.

    1. Have you ever used a dating site? If yes, for how long or how seriously did you take it?
On and for a couple years. I took it fairly seriously but based on hearsay it sounds like the best way to go about it is as aloof as possible. Still awaiting confirmation of provenance.

    2. Did you date anybody found on the dating sites?
I went on precisely two dates via Tinder. They were awkward and ended up nowhere.

    3. Will you go back to the site again if you are alone?
Yes. Though more because it requires minimal effort and is a way to pass the time rather than out of actual hope it'll work. Kind of like playing the lottery.

    4. How do you prefer finding dates (friends of friends, colleagues, dating sites, hobby groups, clubs, memberships, etc)?
However I can, though my most recent relationships were all through friends.

    5. How do you prefer being approached for a date?

First I like to be approached. If that ever happens I'll narrow it down further.

    1. Have you ever used a dating site? If yes, for how long or how seriously did you take it?
Yes. Sporadically/on/off. I use it just to meet up and talk to different people, no sexual/romantic desires at all. So not seriously at all.

    2. Did you date anybody found on the dating sites?
3-4 so far, I've been using it for a few months.

    3. Will you go back to the site again if you are alone?
I don't feel loneliness at all/or at least very minimally to the point where I don't notice. It's usually when I'm trying to practice better conversation skills.

    4. How do you prefer finding dates (friends of friends, colleagues, dating sites, hobby groups, clubs, memberships, etc)?
All of the included methods in the parenthesis seem good. I would probably be more interested in the people my friends/colleagues suggest because they've been 'filtered' or have been suggested specifically to me.

    5. How do you prefer being approached for a date?
Direct/honest, since I'm terrible at reading between the lines.

    1. Yes, for a month or so and I took it serious.

    2. Yes, unfortunately LOL

    3. Absolutely NOT!

    4. Prefered way to meet someone would be through a mutual friend set-up. Or spontaneously meeting someone.

    5. Only semi-direct at first or I will think you're ...too eager. But if I like a guy and he is shy I have no problem being the one to initiate. If I want something, I go for it.
