Which Do You Prefer: Movies or TV Shows

Which medium do you Prefer: Movies or TV Shows?

And why, if you'd like to share.

I prefer TV shows (serials) to movies.

You get to savour them longer. The writers have more opportunities to add twists and turns. Stories can potentially become more complex, increasing the number of possible outcomes to speculate about, and you get to see the full richness of the characters unfold over time.

    Movies are too short.

I hardly ever watch movies. Have binged quite a few animes so I guess that counts as TV shows.

With live action stuff I prefer films, with anime I usually prefer series. Films always feel much more polished than TV shows, something about live action shows especially tends to feel a bit unnatural and unbelievable to me, like watching a theatre play. Anime films are still usually more aesthetically polished than anime series but it doesn't seem to matter as much in that case, and with series you can get a much longer, more in-depth story that you can spend more time with.

I clearly prefer TV shows, because they can develop themes, characters and worlds much, much better due to their length. Films can only go so far, while shows can really go into great detail. This can make or break a show in my eyes, but if done correctly, like the first 6 seasons of Game of Thrones (the last 2 seasons... season 7 had a number of good moments, while season 8... writing-wise it sank like the Titanic), it can really be a masterpiece.

I don't really have a preference, it depends on the story and how large its scope is. Some stories are smaller and work better as movies, some works are larger so TV shows work better for them.
I don't need every story I watch to be 10s of hours long. When it comes down to it, I'd rather have quality over quantity.

I've watched way more films than TV so perhaps I like film more. TV over here is pretty bad.

I prefer TV Shows, because I enjoy the continuum and progression. They tend to dig deeper with characters.
There's also commitment and something to look forward to, I use them as a night story before sleep.

Movies are often mere snacks. When brilliant, they only leave me craving for more but hardly ever deliver.
But sometimes, they create a compact, wholesome world in which I want to revisit from time to time.

This is my position too. You barely get any backstory half the time in films and rarely any worthwhile character development. I like to get into the story more than a movie usually allows. Some of my favorite films are film series, probably for that reason. The average film is very predictable.
