How on earth is INTP leading this poll? Really? IMO they would be better as a right hand man (or woman) of some sort but an acutual leader? Not saying that it's impossible, but it would take one sure BALANCED INTP to take the reigns, or they would have to co-lead with someone who is more decisive so there can be an action/thinking duo of some sort.

Probably because you can pick multiple choices and more people feel that INTP would make a good leader, if not the best. It might be different if you could only choose one.

INFPs that are mature, healthy and intelligent. Compassion and sincerity are two things that I value. Dominant Fi. My intuition tells me that introverts in general would be great leaders. I wouldn't mind an offbeat approach to authority either.

(This is just my opinion and type alone does not necessarily tell how well of a leader a person is)

This is a pretty biased poll. For the most part people are doing what he said and picking multiple. Also everyone is picking their types and their are a lot of intp here. People generlly dislike judgers too which further skews it.

    FAIL

Are any of you actually civil servants? Working for certain types isn't fun. ENTP for example = BAD BOSS. They micromanage and their divisions fall apart. ENTJ not that bad really. They can be pushy but fair. They like to see things get done and can be good motivators. INFP? I love you guys but no. For one they hate the confined cubicle setting and they are too subdued. I can't speak of SF at all. INTP no way. They don't have as much problem speaking their mind as INFP but sometimes you can't understand what they are trying to say. I know one ENFJ boss and she is ok, can't really say anything negative really. Notice I never said myself? We get shit done but we don't like to finish.

If this is about political leaders then everything I just said goes out the window. Government leaders in the inner workings, sorry all you ESTJ haters but they are king and for good reason.
I have never met an ESTJ who was "typically fair," although I don't reject the possibility that there might be one somewhere. It is precisely the INFP's hatred for the confining structures, and our subdued nature, that would make us good leaders. We would allow enough freedom to promote a non-fear-based working environment, with people actually liking their jobs instead of working out of the fear that if they don't subject themselves to slavery, the will be too poor to provide for their physical needs. Work should be a joy, and should give those involved a sense of personal satisfaction and purpose. A boss that is aggressive or unyielding would be impossible to work with, especially if that boss did not respect the individuality of his or her employees and was unwilling to eliminate outdated rules or traditions even if those rules decreased harmony and productivity.

I agree that basic guidance with minimal control is ideal. My dad's an ISTJ, and I could work for someone like him.

Government...INTJs maybe. Effective, honest, direct, good thinkers. They'd get stuff done. Oh, but please a balanced INTJ, none of those normal ones with their heads up their asses. O_o
i noticed xNTJ's vote for their own type as bosses.
    what does that say

    I voted: INTP, INTJ, ENTJ.
ENTP would be good bosses but I would kriss kross with their Ti logic.

ENTP+ENTJ combination would work beautifully though.
    They balance each other.

The Ns are leading again, no surprises there. I like how ESTJs are just barely higher than INFPs, the only sensor higher than an intuitive. You know, since types with primary Te make the best leaders.

If I were to judge it for myself I'd put EXTJs on the top tier, followed closely by all the other XNXJs. Percievers would mostly be at the bottom.
