4w3 and "The Voice"

My mom may be a 4w3, and I can't help but notice that she has this super-polite "professional" voice that she does not only use in business situations or greeting new people, but also when she is dealing with someone she dislikes/thinks is stupid or insane, and almost all the time when she is on the phone. Is this something other 4w3s do?

Yes, I do this. If I am just casually hanging out with friends I don't use it unless a subject comes up where I feel strongly about explaining myself accurately. I notice at work when dealing with the public, if I change my tone of voice to a very soft, higher pitched, semi melodic tone, I will get the desired reaction I want out of the person. The more gentle yet not wishy washy I sound the better. I actually get great results and can accomplish goals better than a lot of other people. Also, if I don't do this, I might get frustrated or angry and the convo will go down the drain because they will get defensive and sometimes even aggressive. I like to call it finesse.

I forgot to mention that I absolutely hate it when people use the fake version of this. I would not even smile if I did not truly get the 100% urge to smile when I first stared serving the public in the food industry. But, over time I realized that I truly wanted those people to be happy, so I would give a genuine smile that was mostly eyes. You have to believe it for it to come across as sincere.
