Just wondering what fictional characters my fellow INTP's admire. Make sure to add their type [or our guess at their type] if you can.

1.) Severus Snape [istj/intj] I love his snarky ways....
2.) Jack Sparrow [estp/entp] He's a witty pirate for god's sake.
3.) Neal Caffrey (from white collar) [entj] A perfect liar.
4.) Gregory House (from house) [intp] Sarcastic and brilliant.
5.) Sherlock Holmes [intj, in my opinion] His ability to solve problems astounds me.

5.) Haruhi Suzumiya (from the melancholy of haruhi) [entp/entj] She just doesn't give a damn. It's awesome.

Hmmmm, this is a good question :)
I might revisit this post to type these people, but for now, I'll just list them.

Jango and Boba Fett
Spock
Sylar
Ben Linus and Faraday
Spartan 117 (John)
jabba the hut
conan the barbarian
barbarella
henry chinaski (my only real hero)
bah..i'll just say jabba the hut again
Jabba the Hutt XD

And what qualities does he possess that you admire?
I nearly always admire wise, gentle, complex and mysterious characters. You know, like Dumbledore (INFP?). Or the Doctor (Doctor Who)(INTP?).

Then there are the ones I really can't say I admire, but like nonetheless: House (INTP?), Dr. Strangelove (IXTP? No idea? Haha), Ben Linus (ISTJ?). Another example of a rather twisted character I loved was the title character from the 1965 film The Collector (another ISTJ?), played by a brilliant young Terence Stamp. He was so well-meaning, innocent, almost, and yet so warped. I definitely recommend the film to all of you. :p

(I feel a bit bad that none of these characters are female--the excuse I'm using is that there simply aren't enough stories that feature complex and flawed female characters, rather than superficial and sexy companions to more interesting male characters.)
I like Cal Lightman (INTP) from "Lie to Me" . Not only do I get to see how we INTPs are seen on the outside, but I also get to learn some fun facts about human psychology!

The Doctor from Doctor Who (I think the current one is an ENTP)
Of course, House (major INTP or possibly very misanthropic ENTP)
Tony Hill (INFP) from "Wire in the Blood"
Stephen Colbert (ESTP) - his fictional side, not the real actor (whose sense of humor is trademark INTP)

You expect me to only pick five?! Ha!

1) Jean Valjean from Les Miserables. (Not normally my favourite type of character, but he's just that awesome.)
2) Gandalf [INTJ] from, of course, Lord of the Rings. (I mean really. What's not to love about Gandalf?)
3) Puddleglum from The Silver Chair. (Do I even need to explain why I love him?)
4) Horatio Fisk from Dean Spanley. (The most wonderfully contrary character I've come across. Grouchy old people are my favourite)
5) Sophie Hatter from Howl's Moving. Castle (She's so no-nonsense.)
6) Redmond Barry from The Memoirs of Barry Lyndon, Esq. (He's a horrible person, yet I can't help but adore his arrogance and the numerous ways he tries to justify his actions over the course of the book)

i don't admire so much people who resemble me, or nerdy stereotypical characters. it's nothing interesting in that. instead i like the ones i find completely rediculous, especially stereotypical bad guy characters or stupid people. but i have a soft spot for well meaning slackers and tired old men.
