I have taken 6 different MB tests the last day, and 4 say Im a INTJ while two say ISTJ.

So, how do I know what I am? It seems more to be of wording type of thing. Since English is my second language how the question is asked may affect how I answer the question.

Its the N or S question I get the different readings on. The other three are very stable.

I guess the INTJ are supposed to be very smart ( in serious test Ive always landed somewhere around 120, not that high, most IQ test can be thought with repitition ) but never been really good at School. Atleast not in our school system where boundries where never set. No homework needed etc..

I love to think about efficient use of materials and time. How to calculate making capital investments and depreciacion. Ive never studied it, but I would love to read about it. How to make a businesses more efficient and competetive. Im studying Social Economics, but I find it to teoretical, so its very boring to me. That and with a full time job, I get very low grades. So I should not be a INTJ?

Could anybody direct me somewhere I could find out if Im more inclined to N or S?

Do you take facts as absolute truths?

Do you tend to look to the future? If so, do you look a few days, weeks forward. Or do you look a few years ahead?

Do you prefer concrete subjects as opposed to theoretical?

Yes.

I have a well paying job in a field that will most likely disapear from this contry in 10-20 years. Thats why I decided 3 years ago that I needed a different degree now. Is that far sighted?

I like conclusions rather then drudging through tons of paper. I want the facts so I can prosses them in my mind. Not finding the facts myself.

Im constantly caluculating my wage, what it would be if I worked overtime, get a raise, how much I need for retierment. Most purchases I make ( very few ) are very carfully matched to other bundles of goods to see where I get the most utility.

Thinking about things I would like to buy in a year or two, and constantly trying to find the "best" given my options, and if I couldnt get a better deal going a different route.

PS: to me this sounds like a Personality Dissorder, but hey, what do I know.

My only reason asking for this, is I feel more at home as a ISTJ, but I keep scorring so high in N compared to S in the recent test.

If you feel that ISTJ fits you better, that could be your type.

You could hang around INTJ and ISTJ forums to see which one you feel more at home at...

I got a message saying I shoud do a Ennagram test, to figure out what I might be. Well I took one three years ago, and the same test today.

Here are my results

3 years ago:
1: Type 5 & 6, 23points each
2: Type 1, 19points
3: Type 4, 18points
4: Type 3, 16points
5: Type 9, 15points

Today:
1: Type 6, 24points
2: Type 1, 21points
3: Type 4, 20points
4: Type 9, 19points
5: Type 5, 18points

What would you guys make out of this.. there is not alot of points between the rankings but, 1 and 6 are high up on both tests. 4 is steady (atleast in ranking).

After reading the description of the 6, it kind of fits. Im making back up plans on back up plans. Planning years in advance, like to be self reliant, suspicious and enjoy working with women.

Type 6 fits very well with ISTJ. Both are loyal, dependable, and "need to be needed", and take lots of steps for future security. 6w5, if I remember correctly, is constantly taking counter-measures to defend against the world, always in a state of vigilance. They're typically pretty well book-read. From what you describe, that sounds about right, but only you can decide that.

As for working with women... well, that may just be a male thing.

I just found a description at cognetiveprocesses.com wich suits me. I would love to be in a position where I could make long term plans, reading up on efficiency, implementing measueres to be competetive for the loong haul.

INTJ - Conceptualizer Director
Theme is strategizing, envisioning, and masterminding. Talents lie in defining goals, creating detailed plans, and outlining contingencies. Devise strategy, give structure, establish complex plans to reach distant goals dictated by a strong vision of what is needed in the long run. Thrive on putting theories to work and are open to any and all ideas that can be integrated into the complex systems they seek to understand. Drive themselves hard to master what is needed to make progress toward goals.

Also, I cant post links, but Grey wrote a article called "Masterminds: the INTJ personality", wich I thought suited me.

Your average across tests is coming out more "N" than "S"? But are you coming out 53% or 52% one way or the other on each of the tests? If so, that could just indicate that you are a flexible thinker who can get along easily with both N's and S's...which would benefit you in any career.

I also find that my surroundings and job tends to influence how I test. I'm usually borderline J/P but tend to be very "NT" when I work in a high-powered scientific environment but less pronouncedly so when I work in humanities or a less achievement oriented scientific group.

So, it may not be superimportant to pin it down per se, but more important to see how your results can work for you as you choose your next stage career.

Ahem, there are quite a few type 6 INTJs. But you will find that all Type 6 INTJs have a heavy heavy doze of the 5. If someone told me they were 6w7 INTJ I may eat their face; it seems pretty improbable to me.

The answer relies upon you understanding the cognitive functions. Work out 'What is Ni/Si Dominant'.

For those of you who have read Watchmen ( or perhaps seen the movie ), I feel very much like Adrian Veidt ( Ozymandias)..

While most around me are living in the now, and dont have a clue what Im talking about, I see long term implications of actions. But I have so many thoughts or combining so many ideas at the same time, its difficult to explain how I reach my conclusions, so when I give anybody "answers" they dont seem to understand. (Not that my ideas are 100%, but its my thoughts on the matter)

ISIS: so you are saying you behave diffrently in what setting you are in? I work in manual labour job with 300 other people, 25 of those are in my "department". I rarely have to think, and just go around doing my work. At school, Im surrounded by more accademic people.. so I have to behave in two different ways in public. You maybe think this maybe messing up my results.

And to you others.. does this sound plausible?

Not that I behave differently (although I do), but my default way looking at the world actually changes somewhat depending on what types of people I am around for 8 to 11 hours a day. 5 years ago, I tested INTJ/P, but the N and the T were very close to the middle...now I'm really, really N and really, really T on the tests, but I've been working with some pretty hard-core scientists (and my family are very NT), so I am defaulting more to automatically reacting like the people I spend time with.

I would not say that the results are messed up. What I think is that the results are just a piece of information that you can use as a means of figuring out what you want to do next.

Isis: I just took the test over at Personality.info, the same site your linking under your "User Signature"

I actually paid for the personalitymax test..dont know why. Seemed like a profesional site.

I: 95%
N: 63%
T: 89%
J: 68%

Intrapersonel: 80%
Logic/math: 80%
Kinesthetic: 74%
Naturalist: 74%

By the way, how do I set up the same User Signature as you? Showing my stats?

Go to User CP. Go to edit signature.
Get the link from your personality account and copy/paste it into the box.

I paid for mine, too; you get the "deluxe" package, which is moderately groovy. And I had one professionally done at a job a while ago, and my results looked different in scale, but had the same overall INTJ/P flavor.

You results look like INTJ to me, but you'll probably have an easier time understanding where the S's are coming from.

Listen to DarkestHour regarding the technical details --he's smart that way and also explained this "ninja-ing" thing, which was quite fascinating.

Well..

Since I dont have anything else to do today, I spent most of the day on this forum and reading about different personalities. So after taking this Ennagram test again (at ennagraminstitue.com) after 3 years, I took 4 more at 4 different sites. All those say Im a 1. And I read Type 1 is usually a ISTJ. But you can see from my test, Im clearly not.

Now, Im really sceptical about all this. How come they differ so much? I mean, I can agree with some of the Type 6. But clearly not all.

Man, I dunno.

Some INTJs also turn out as Type 1's.
