Just wanna clear some things up first as it seems like you've been taken in by some of the usual MBTI misinformation that's thrown around on the internet: You don't have to be a sensor to love music. Your perceiving function doesn't necessarily determine why it is you love music either, I'm an intuitive and I don't usually care much about the 'meaning' of songs, I just love nice melodies and whatnot which certain sites would call a sensing trait. But it's not at all. You're basically talking about how you have a very deep passion for music that drives you, that's likely Feeling at work rather than a perceiving function. Feeling focuses on values. I think you're experiencing Fi, which is "MY values". Music is one of your values, so as an Fi-user that's one of your main fixations. That's exactly how I am with my vidya games. Don't even get me started on my vidya games. Same goes for food and physical sensations, e'rrybody loves food, but as Fi fixates on things that you value this may be amplified for you.
(I'm typing this as I'm watching the video and I just want to say how much I relate to the zoning out-paying attention loop, holy god. I did so bad in school because I physically could not pay attention. I thought I had ADHD for a while (turned out I don't) and I'm still trying to find out why it is now)
First of all, remember that everyone uses both sensing and intuition, we just have a preference. If your sensing is introverted then your intuition will be extroverted, and vice-versa. So you'll either use Si & Ne or Ni & Se. So it's best to learn what all four actually mean and work out which of those two pairs you think you use.
- Sensing collects sensory information from your environment. Sensing is literal, "what am I seeing", "what am I hearing". "Why"s are irrelevant to sensing. All it cares about is "what is literally happening around me right now". That sort of information. It doesn't care about theories, it wants to know what's real.
- Intuition finds patterns and focuses on more abstract information. As opposed to Sensing which looks at the world around you as it physically exists in front of you, Intuition looks at patterns, WHY is this happening, what is CAUSING this to happen, what does it MEAN, etc. It has a habit of ignoring reality and trying to understand the world by instead thinking and theorising about it.
Because of this, Sensors tend to be more grounded in reality and care much more about tangible facts and information, and Intuitives tend to be more abstract thinkers and tend to be more metaphorical. I've found that sensors are often confused as to why I bother thinking about the sorts of things I like to think about, because to them it's pointless and maybe a little weird.
- Extroverted perceiving functions COLLECT information. They grab at all available information related to that function that they possibly can without care for what it's collecting it for. The result is you'll get a much bigger picture of what's going on, but might miss the finer details.
- Introverted perceiving functions ORDER information. They collect only the information that it thinks is most important. They take the information that's gained via that function and store it into a database of information in your head, compares it with other information you've collected before and tries to make sense of it. You'll ignore the bigger picture and focus on the details.
When presented with information, the extroverted function collects all the information, the introverted function picks and chooses information that you think is more important or makes more of an impression on you. The extroverted function will have a bigger mass of information as a result, but the introverted function will look into things much more deeply and get more precise information as a result.
Personally I think you're Ne-Si, and I think you're xNFP, but see if any of that helps and if you're able to work it out for yourself. Introspection is the best way to work out your type.
