When analyzing myself I have come to the conclusion that on the topics that I choose to analyze I usually get to a conclusion that few people are capable of. On the other hand in topics where I choose to not analyze but act on instinct I find my decisions to be very stupid (especially such which involves peoples feelings).

Is this typical INTP? To be partly smart and partly stupid?

If you by "instinct" mean intuition, I think most people will get a better result when analyzing things rather than solely relying on intuition. Unless you're doing something artistic or otherwise creative.

Depends on how you define "stupid". Most of the INTPs here suck with other's (and their own) emotions and feelings. That doesn't make them 'stupid'. Although, one must work to develop their shadow feelings.

Socially stupid? Yes.

Not stupid, but your weaknesses. Everyone has their weaknesses in one area, but that does not make them stupid.

Like someone who might be considered "stupid" academically might be very "smart" in another area.

So everyone is smart, and everyone is stupid. Just in different areas.

Many INTPs just have troubles understanding other people's emotions, but they're not stupid, they need more practice.. it also doesn't come as easy either.
