From my dime-store understanding of mental illness, schizophrenia is when the mine isolates some function that is normally incorporated in the psyche of a healthy individual. This isolation causes the part of the mind to come across as foreign or "other." This is a gross over-simplification, but isn't this what we do when we repress our extroverted feeling? Seems like an issue of degree to me.
