Are you Crushing on/Dating/Engaged/Married to an ENTP? In fact, have you been romantically involved with an ENTP at any point and how did it turn out for you? . u.

I once had a crush on an ENTP. She was pretty funny and liked many things about her. Unfortunately, I was always under the impression that I was not her kind of guy, so I never tried to go any further.

I'm married to an ENTP. He is the only confirmed ENTP I've had any type of relationship with, so I'm unable to compare our relationship to mine with other ENTPs.

Regardless, here's the gist.

We met freshman year of highschool. I was immediately attracted to him. He was cute, loud, funny, and extremely outgoing. I memorized his full name and had a crush on him for a couple of months. He didn't know who I was for quite a while.
We became friends later that year (we had a few classes together). We had one of those instant-bonds that made us interact as if we had been friends forever. He was hilarious. He told me that he had a crush on me off and on for the two years of our friendship following that...while he was dating one girl after another. I lost interest in him later freshman year, when other guys were more interested in me.
We became closer a couple of years later, when we helped each other through our respective break-ups. A couple months afterwards, he admitted his feelings for me. I broke up with my not-serious boyfriend later that week, and my husband and I started dating.
Our relationship started off intensely. We never had that "honeymoon" phase. We had already been fighting as friends, so moving to boyfriend/girlfriend from there didn't do anything to change that. In the beginning, I was very guarded emotionally and he was very domineering and manipulative.
It was pretty unhealthy, and he broke up with me after less than a month, when he got scared of the intensity of the relationship. We got back together a week later, then broke up three weeks later, then got back together three months later...then broke up four months later, then got back together a week later, then broke up two months later, then got back together two weeks later...then broke up nine months later, then got back together three weeks later. He broke up with me each of those times. He also "left" one day since we've been married..."left" because he regretted it that night and begged me to take him back.
We got engaged two months after that, married a year and a half after that, and have been married for almost a year now.

If I'm to sum it up, I'd say this...

He's been flighty and terrified of commitment at times. I've been self-sacrificing and too-loyal at times.
He's refused to deal with his issues at times. I've refused to deal with my issues at times.
But on the up side, he has changed and matured immensely over the years. With every time he's messed up, he's learned and changed. And with every time he's left, I've learned, matured and changed. I've learned how to help him stay out of that panicky flight mode and what to do if he gets into it.
That being said, he's a Type 7 and I'm a Type 6. And most of those problems actually have stemmed from that relationship more than our ENTP/INFJ relationship.
Overall, he's the dominant one, I'm the passive one. He's the talker, I'm the listener. He's the excitement, I'm the grounding. He's what keeps me moving, I'm what keeps him planning ahead.
We love to talk about ideas, to theorize, to analyze people, and to talk about psychology. We love animals and are very empathetic towards others. We have big dreams together and want the same things out of life.
I love him. He's taken me for a ride. But he's my best friend and I'll be loyal to him to the end.

I had a crush on an ENTP (or I suspect he is). We had a lot of racy political discussions. What I loved about him is how silly and serious we were together, dancing around matters like determinism and then seriously fussing about what would happen of Pikachu would swim (you know, the electricity). The chemistry was so easy and so exciting, magnetic even. Or so it felt to me. When I asked him if he liked me he said both yes and no and there it stranded. After that he's been dating, like The Ultimate Square Peg described, one girl after another. The silly sod. *Sighs*

Two years later now, I would date him in a heartbeat.

This is hilarious! :)
Also, my husband and I debate and obsess over Pokemon all the time, so I found that extra funny. I'm going to mention the thought of Pikachu swimming to him. In fact, he just walked in...

The only ENTP I know is a guy, so no. He is a great guy, one of my best friends even, but I don't swing that way and neither does he. :eek:P

It'd be awesome to meet an ENTP gal at some point irl. I tend to crush more on Is than Es though.

Hey, everyone :). I'm currently dating and am in love with an ENTP girl, so I guess it's safe to say that I am romantically involved with an ENTP and I hope it turns out very well (I've been engaged with another INFJ before that and that didn't end well :|). It's almost 6 months now and we know each other for a little longer than that (at first she didn't want to commit to a relationship). Also, there's a feeling that we know each for a really long long time, maybe because we spend quite a lot of time together :).

That's so weird about the pokemon thing because I met an ENTP at my school for once and we also talked about pokemons! How eerie!

I'm in agreement with @Signify, INTPs are way more dreamy lol No offense to any INFJs who are with an ENTP but the descriptions of their flighty nature gives me a MASSIVE headache and commitment phobia to any ENTP. Although I hear INTPs have the same issues with flightiness AHAHahahaha (however their quiet demeanor somehow makes it seem more like timidness so it gives me false hope while ENTPs seem like they just wanna PLAY THE FIELD which makes me gaaag). I'm SOOOO generalizing right now for my own amusement lol

With the right ENTP things can be really easy going and communication is easy peasy. I will note that my ENTP friend was also flighty with his ex.

To the INFJs who managed to date someone that kept breaking up with them, I'm crazy impressed by your patience and devotion; If I met someone so unreliable I would've been over it so fast lol Especially considering how bad it is for my heart haha

Update on the Pokemon conversation:
I casually mentioned to my husband what I thought about Pikachu swimming, and said that I wondered if he was able to be in water because he's electric....

And he proceeded to go off on a very detailed and long rant about how Pikachu could swim- it was the other Pokemon in the water that needed to be worried, because the electricity would get them, not him. And also that in such-and-such episode, Pikachu swam and in such-and-such game, you could swim as Pikachu, and......

I just started laughing.

:shocked:I'm an ENTP person of the feminine persuasion, and I know that I am aka an escape artist. I will fight getting caught like something ferocious. But when I know it's game over, I become the sweetest pet a person could imagine, and I settle down and play my racing video games to chill out. Just because I'm a bit competitive. Right now I can't reach my game controller, because it is too far away. I am currently sitting on a pedestal, and am waiting for someone with a well equipped tool bag to lower this thing for me, and I know, if only out of the goodness of their heart.:kitteh:

WHAT's the flightiness about?! I wanna know! *poke*

I know INTPs are super flighty (only because I literally read the entire INTP board lol) but why ENTPs? I mean, aren't ENTPs the one coming on INFJ forums professing their love for INFJs lol Never expected to hear that they're escape artists.

What's that about? Don't you folks like the lovey dovey? haha

To my knowledge, we arn't really all that flighty. Ne pokes its head around the corner to make us constantly question the state of things, but our introversion binds us in place in a relationship so we don't get around (even if it is primarily due to our massive fear of it).

Flighty is probably the wrong word. I meant it's incredibly difficult to make an INTP take the leap, so they're flighty before taking the leap.... afterwards they're pretty steady... I think lol Depending on the person haha

I still believe that INTPs find INFJ emotions overwhelming ;]

This is true... What is it about INFJs that ENTPs like so much? I'm gonna learn a bit more about ENTPs so I can figure out if I know any....
Yeah I don't get what ENTPs like about INFJs either haha Like I dunno, I don't see where the attraction comes from... I had a teacher just this spring who was teaching a physics class and he was a definite ENTP and I just don't see how a personality like that could find INFJs interesting lol Although I kinda can see why my ENTP classmate might like an INFJ, but he's not like a strong ENTP, he's pretty well balanced. The ENTP professor was much more extreme.

I have no idea either. If anything, I'd say they should find us incredibly boring.
