The "favorite television show" series of threads weren't so successful; hopefully this topic shall be.

First it was probably Madonna, Michael Jackson, Bananarama, Dire Straits, Pseudo Echo, (I can't remember younger than about 10 as far as my music tastes).

Then in high school it was all over the place... Def Leppard, Guns n Roses, Poison, Bon Jovi, as well as whatever pop artists were around... like Paula Abdul, The Bangles, Red Hot Chill Peppers, U2, Matt Bianco ...there is so many more but I just can't recall them right now. I pretty much liked anything except country/really heavy metal. My brother (who was born in 1969, had a huge influence on my music tastes).

I love all kinds of music so I have a ton of groups I love, but the ones I listened to the most were:
Pink floyd
Led Zeppelin
Deep Purple
The Who
Mountain
ZZ Top
Bad Company
KISS (the early years)
Def Leopard
Fleetwood Mac
Heart
Pat Benatar
Iron Maiden
Metallica
Dio

Like I said there are tons more of all different genres.

My very first records were Emerson Lake and Palmer (S/T), Kiss "Love Gun", would have had more Kiss records if I could have because I loved them when I started school. Being from a small town and not liking much my friends were listening to, it was rather difficult to find something I truly liked in the way I loved Kiss until a friend introduced me to Duran Duran, and I really liked their first 2 records and the live one. I guess as things got rough in my life I needed more aggressive music and happened to find a station on the weekend at night that was playing Aerosmith, ACDC, stuff like that and I was home again lol. From there it went to rather typical hard rock to metal (Iron maiden saved my life no joke!), to thrash (Slayer were my faves) then Death Metal (Sepultura) and Grindcore (Napalm Death/Carcass) by the time I got to college.

Many of the male artists/bands in that list were particularly special to me when I was a teen. Although some of them had already lost popularity -> I tend to live in the past.
