There has been like three topics on this film. I'm cutting and pasting what I posted originally. :laughing:

I think Selina is some kind of SFJ, her use of Si and Fe is apparent, I'm just trying to figure out whats the placement is for them. You kind of see the lower form of Ne in her too where she says Gotham's reckoning is coming and she is going to revel in it. If pushed I would say she is more ESFJ but I could see her as an ISFJ too. But definitely a Fe user, she goes on and on referencing the external standard and how Gotham treats it's poor people to justify her stealing. It's not until the end of the film where Batman gets threw to her and she wants to become better because he shows her that she can become better. He raises the standard and she goes with him. Enneangram: 3w2, So/Sp

Gordon seems like an ESTJ to me, a Te dom with inferior Fi. He is haunted because he let Batman take the fall and he can't live with himself because he didn't live up to his ideals (inferior Fi) he looked at what worked for the people and for Gotham (Te) rather then what was internally the right judgement call to make (Fi). Enneangram: 1w2, Sp/So

John Blake -- some kind of Fi type. His ideals are all over the place and he uses subjective judgement calls all the time bucking against authority figures. I would say he is an ISFP over INFP, just because he seems more concrete based rather then abstract. But there isn't too much detail given to him. Enneangram: 6w7, So/Sx

Miranda Tate -- Ni-Fe/Fe-Ni user some kind of NFJ, her main theme seems to be that she did everything because Daddy wanted her too and because she didn't feel the people of Gotham were innocent and that they all deserved to die or pay because her Dad died and she was getting back at Batman which is totally Fe. Constant referencing to an external standard. Everyone in Gotham is guilty or evil because Dad said so or something. She plans everything down to the letter so I could see her using Ni. I guess I would put her as an ENFJ is pushed. Enneangram: 3w4, Sx/So

Bane -- was he even a personality? He was mostly just a puppet for others as revealed by the end of the film. I could see him as a Te dominant type but it's hard to see his other functions because he really was just the muscle behind the Al Gaul's. Some kind of ETJ. Enneangram: 8w9, Sx/Sp

Bruce: Not a Fe user. Leads with either Ni or Ti. I see Fi in his code of principals thought not Fe. I would say INTJ. However his thinking also seems introverted to me too. It doesn't look like he is using Te. But I see Fi>Fe and pronounced and leading Ni so I guess that makes him an INTJ by default. Enneangram: 5w6, Sp/So

Alfred: I have no idea what he is. But seems to judge himself by his ability to take care of Mr. Wayne. Which strikes me as Fe. That automatically makes him some kind of FJ. There is not much else to his character in the films though so it is hard to come to a direct conclusion. Enneangram: 2, So/Sp

Lucious: Strikes me as a Te user. This toy works, want to see what it can do? Also seems to have a Te factor in how can I make this work efficiently/effectively and better. When Batman "dies" the first question he asks is what could I have done to make sure that this didn't happen. Te. Not much else is there otherwise though. I guess some kind of TJ. Enneangram: 5w6 So/Sx

in the cartoons, batman is definitely ESTP 8. In the movies, christian bale is either ENTP or INFJ, its hard to say.

@Arrow
- how is Cat Woman So/Sp? (hell, how is she So anything?) what So/Sp chick runs around in a sexy cat suit and uses her sexuality to disarm rich, powerful men. she is Sp/Sx or Sx/Sp for sure
- how is Batman 5w6? he seems like a clear gut center type to me (I think he's an 8, he has a clear undercurrent of aggressive, predatory anger that makes him "darker" than your typical hero. he also goes to 5 when stressed and retreats to his lair). also, I think he's Sp/Sx due to his quite intensity/passion (it's hard to explain, but his vibe is hella Sp/Sx) and i don't think his reasons for becoming batman are Social instinct motivated.
- how is Gordon an Sp dom as opposed to So/Sp? I would think an Sp dom would be more concerned with physical safety than he is
@DJArendee

She is ultra sensitive to where she is in the social hierarchy, every word that comes out of her mouth in the film is about her placement in society. She is all about the rich this, the rich that, rich, rich, rich. She wants to be rich but ultimately her want to be rich is fueled by the fact that she feels owed to it by her community. She hates the fact that she has been disadvantaged and she sees herself as belonging to a higher class of society. She hates the way Gotham treats it's poor people while the rich live it up in lavish and leave nothing for the rest of them. She steals from the rich because she needs to survive. She is fixated on social status and where she is within the status of the world. She can't become a "normal person" because she is a known thief and any search for her name immediately brings up unsavory detail about her past. Her name is her social credit card to the world. She wants to be apart of the social system but she can't.

Also look at the way she feels when she sees that the social system has no credence anymore. She feels lost and abandoned because people start to just take things and there is no social order or unity, just chaos. She doesn't feel safe. She feels alone and scared, why? Because there is no group or social society to help moderate things. Another aspect of the social variant is when she saves the little boy who steals an apple and then teaches him life lessons that could help him not get killed, but that is also a slide into self preservation. Overall she is more affected by the social variant, she needs to help restore order with Batman to the city of gotham when she should have wanted to leave and save herself because she believed they can't win. Overall the society needed to be put in place and that shows faith in the social variant. She's core social. Everything about her is about the group and building something to protect most of the members of the group.

Batman is a complete 5, his complete immersion into information and making sure he knows everything that is going to happen is a 5 marker. He is competency driven but everything about him is about gaining information so he knows what to look out for. He studies Bane for weeks before he goes up against him. His first response is to gain more information then to act. Preparing the suit, his gadgets, getting information on his opponents, everything is 5 referenced. He does have a drive to 8 when he feels he knows what he is doing, that is mainly his entire point as Batman to punish those who he feels are wrong as criminals. He feels that he needed to avenge his parents death and make sure no one else goes threw the pain he went through as a child. But what he is most comfortable doing is assembling information for him to act on. He isn't comfortable simply acting and imposing himself like an 8 does. Everything about him is about making sure he has information so he isn't blind sighted. At least in this film. The second one didn't shed too much light on his core motivations, and the first one I can barely remember. But he seems more 5 to me, in his lair, deciphering notes and clues then an 8 amassing power and controlling the city because he feels he needs to. He moves to 8 via 5 but he isn't a core 8.

I think he is a 6 wing because everything he does is about the group and maintaining a safe thing/place to believe in for the group. He does this for Gotham, but it's also so that Gotham has faith that things will be okay from evil, corruption. That seems like a 6's firmness to believe in something or to create something to believe in. He is crushed when he can't protect his city which seems both 6ish and 8ish which can come from the wing and 5's integration to 8.

You could be right about this. My argument stemmed from the fact that he seemed to agonize about the fact that he didn't live up to his beliefs instead of doing what he thought was right, which seemed Sp to me because he was worried about the city needed instead of what was right. He could be So/Sp.

sorry, but everything here is either one of several possible interpretations or doesn't actually have to do with social instinct (for instance I am Sp/Sx but I am ALL about class and elitist superiority lol)

She doesn't strike me as being Sx at all. She doesn't wish to merge with anything. She's all about the importance of the group and where she stands in reference to the group. I could see the self preservation side but that comes out only when she feels the group can't protect her. For instance when she tries to flee the country because Bane is going to cripple Gotham her first instinct is to get the hell out of there, but she can't. That's self-preservation, but only after she has lost faith in the social system and Batman/Gotham's protection against Bane.

Batman: ISTJ (The character is better portrayed as an INTJ, IMO)
Selina Kyle (Catwoman): ESTP
John "Robin" Blake: ISTP
Alfred Pennyworth: ISFJ
Commissioner Jim Gordon: ISFJ
Bane: INTJ
Jonathan Crane (Scarecrow): INTJ
Deputy Commissioner Foley: ENTP (stab in the dark)

This movie was a big letdown, btw.
