Very good description of Ti as a stand-alone cognitive process.

Specifically, the description of "detachment, even from one's own mind" is right on the money.

I would posit the claim, however, that Te as a stand-alone cognitive process is very much the same as Ti, in that it is also about that very same kind of detachment - but the differences is that, instead of withdrawing further and further inward into an analysis that relies upon the competence of the individual thinker, Te withdraws further and further outward into an analysis that removes the individual thinker as a factor and makes the external world the determining factor.

I make this comparison in order to help clarify the difference and the similarity between these two forms of thinking so that they become easier to identify.
