Easter eggs would be a good example. They have nothing to do with the game's function or look.By the title, do you mean as in what feature is necessary but good regardless or what is the most common unnecessary game feature.
If the first question then it would be easter eggs implemented in games that are meant to give the player a little laugh or giggle.
Especially boosts like NOS in games with strong computer assistance (AKA rubber banding).Nitrous oxide in many video games. Sure it does speed you up, but for some reason it is so temporary and other cars to tend to become faster too. Psychologically after using nitrous, person is much more likely to do a crash.
Agree on that. The only game where nitrous was a must is Juiced. You will be almost imcompetent at drags and hardly competent in short point-to-point races. Except that game, nitrous is mostly useless or was made useless by game developers on purpose.Especially boosts like NOS in games with strong computer assistance (AKA rubber banding).

It was either a version of Quake or a port of Doom, possibly both.Where did you find something like that? Heck even in good ole 3dfx days it's a rarity that I have never seen.
