Hi guys,
I know some years back I have posted what's my type and here I am still confused and forever lost lol..
I completed the scenario questionnaire by Jinsei and tried to find out by looking at the answer key, but I wanted to ask to be sure. It's funny because I always considered myself more of an Fe person, but I am really considering being an Fi-dom now.. for some reason I have been consistently getting INFJ as my type using the 16personalities.com and other mbti tests. I thought I was an ISFJ too, but I am not sure. Anyways, so I thought I was either an INFJ or ISFJ (IxFJ) but now I am really really not sure. And based how I answered on the scenario questions, I feel like I lean towards more Fi than Fe. Am I correct?? I also thought I was an analytical person and thought I was Ti.. but based on my answers I think I seem more Te. I research through stuff to find an answer, etc. Am I right on it also?? Is it safe(?) to think and consider myself an ISFP? I am confused because I am kind of different from my ISFP mom. We are similar but she is way more chill with others and I am more rigid and nervous (maybe it's just that I have some social anxiety).
Can you guys please help me type myself?
(And my enneagram is 9w1 btw..)
Thanks! I will add the questionnaire answer below:
SCENARIO 1
FOCUS ON YOUR FEELING PROCESS HERE
Your significant other just ended your 2 year relationship quite suddenly and with no apparent explanation. Up until this point you had both been talking about marriage and last week you even went to look at rings together. Now he/she won't even return your phone calls or texts. After talking with his/her family you find out that he/she has just been diagnosed with terminal stage 4 cancer.
I would feel devastated. I would be so sad and depressed and sorry to my loved one.. Also, I would be a little hurt as to why they made the decision alone and assumed that that was the best for us, because it's not..I would call or see them immediately, and if not possible I would call their family to let him know how I feel. And that I would be with them forever. If they have leave the world eventually, I would never be able to forget them and not meet anyone for the rest of my life. I would cry all day. (But this is only on the assumption that I truly love them and that they are the love of my life. If not, I don't think I would be as devastated..which is bad but I think I would be because we wouldn't have decided to marry if he wasn't the love of my life in the first place).
Describe how this scenario would make you feel as well as what sort of influences and motivations lie behind those feelings. Why do you feel the way you do?
- In this scenario what would you honestly say the primary focus of your feelings would be?
Sadness. I think those feelings would stem from love. And also, maybe it's selfishness because I am focused on my own feelings.
SCENARIO 2
FOCUS ON YOUR FEELING PROCESS HERE
You are in college and this semester both you and your roommate end up in the same class together. You and your roommate get along fairly well and the living situation works but you aren't particularly close. You both typically do your own thing and are rather indifferent to each other. As the semester progresses you excel and become one of the top students in the class whereas your roommate is struggling significantly to grasp the material. The professor assigns a fairly challenging take home test that is a significant portion of your grade. He/she makes it clear that while it is open book, students are to work alone. Later your roommate comes to you begging for help after struggling with the test most of the weekend. You have already completed the assignment and he/she isn't asking to copy your answers, just to help tutor and mentor them as they struggle to complete the test, so there is no way your professor would ever know. However, this is the first time your room-mate has asked you for help this semester. He/she makes it clear that how they do on this test could mean the difference between passing and failing this class.
- How do you respond to your roommate’s request and why?
I would definitely help her. It is not cheating. It's not giving her answers. It's just tutoring and helping her learn, and especially because I have the capability there's no reason not to help her. I don't think it's cheating at all.
- What sort of things in this scenario stand out to you as far as having a strong influence on your decision making and why?
Whether or not it's something unethical to do (I decided that it's not something unethical, so I decide to help). Also, our relationship. I feel like the question is stressing that we are not very close or are friends. It doesn't matter that we are not close. If I have the capability, I would always help someone.
- Describe the flow of your decision making process.
Is it something unethical? -> no, okay good -> can I help this person (do I have the capability?) -> yes, according to the description, okay good -> there's no reason not to help her -> I would definitely help her
SCENARIO 3
FOCUS ON YOUR LOGIC AND THINKING PROCESS HERE
Your boss calls you into his/her office in order to assign you to a new project. He/she gives you a choice between two.
Project 1 is a rather broad, expansive project covering multiple areas of company operations. It has the potential to have a very significant impact on company operations but it would require a collective effort and an extensive amount of group work where you would be logically thinking through the project together with the group of individuals your boss has also assigned to it.
Project 2 has a much more specific and narrow focus and would require a significant amount of in depth individual analysis to work through the problem. You would be working alone and the completion of the project may or may not have much impact on company operations. However, after complete the process and problem you were working on will be streamlined and fundamentally understood.
- Which project appeals to you the most, as it relates to the way you prefer to logically process information? Why?
2nd one appeals to me the most, because I don't think I have the capability to work on such a broad project that covers multiple areas of the company. It's not so much that I don't like group projects, in fact I would like it better to share the load, however I like focusing on a single problem at a time. Also, 2nd project would allow work to be streamlined, which I feel would be helpful for the future. I don't think I like the fact that I have the sole responsibility though on the 2nd project..
- What sort of things in this scenario, across either project, stood out to you as having a strong influence on your decision? Why?
How much responsibility does each require? Would I have the capability to do it? Which project would I be better at and which one could I complete successfully?
SCENARIO 4
FOCUS ON YOUR LOGIC AND THINKING PROCESS HERE
Your college professor has assigned you to a group project with 3 other individuals. All 3 of these individuals have a good strong work ethic and desire to contribute to the overall success of this project. You are at the first meeting of your group and the other members are tossing around valuable ideas as to the nature and direction of this project.
- Describe your behavior in this situation as you process and think about the ideas they are presenting.
Does it sound like it would work? Is that a good idea? How much responsibility would I have? Which part would I be good at in this project? Would it be too hard to do? (Whatever they are suggesting) Does it sound fun and doable? Do I like the idea?
- Describe what major influences drive this behavior.
I would want something that's is doable within our capabilities. Is it interesting? Would I be able to do it? I don't want something too complicated. I want something simple yet unique and good.
SCENARIO 5
FOCUS ON THE SOURCES YOU DRAW NON-PHYSICAL ENERGY FROM HERE
It has been a very long week and you feel mentally and emotionally drained, but good news! It is Saturday and you have nothing significant that needs to be done. You FINALLY have some free time to yourself to recharge your batteries and do whatever you want.
- Describe what sort of activities would help you to recharge. What would you enjoy doing after a long week and why?
Hallelujah!!!!! I would first get a good sleep, then wake up in the morning and play on my phone, reading up on mbti stuff, and reading random online posts, game reviews, etc. I would play games, listen to music, read good books, workout a little (I don't want to but still do), stay in my sofa the whole day. Eat something delicious, get something to drink (like iced tea). Talk with my family, enjoy my day at home the whole day. I would not like talking to someone on the phone or messaging unless it's someone I love or my family.
- What sort of things do you feel you draw non-physical energy from doing?
Resting, doing whatever I would like to do at home, staying at home. Not worrying about anything (because I tend to have a lot of stress usually)
SCENARIO 6
FOCUS ON THINKING VS FEELING HERE
You have a meeting with your college career counselor to discuss potential careers that interest you. He/she offers you a list of the following careers and asks you to pick your TOP 3. He/she asks you to take money out of the equation. Imagine all of these careers received equal compensation. Focus instead on where you would truly feel most happy and fulfilled.
Artist, Scientist, Actor, Engineer, Musician, Lawyer, Counselor, Entrepreneur, Teacher, Manager, Psychologist, Computer Programmer / Analyst, Clergy, Child Care, Medical Doctor
- What were your top 3 choices and what aspects of these careers appeal to you?
Musician, computer programmer, child care
Musician, if I would get enough for living. It just sounds fun and I like playing an instrument and listening to music. I would love to get some training and then would love to work as a musician once I get the talent.
Computer programmer, because I enjoyed computer science classes and I like games, so it sounds fun. I like computer related stuff.
Child care, even though I am really bad with cooking and cleaning, if I learn how to do and if it's for child care I would do it. I love children , they are so cute and innocent and I would love to provide care for them. And I don't know if I would be a good mom, but because I know how important it is to get loved as a child, I think I would be able to do that at least, giving them the love and attention they need.
- Was it difficult or easy to pick only 3 and why?
It was super easy, because only those 3 stood out to me and because I know what I would like/not like and what I am good at and bad at.
- Prioritize the aspects of your career choices that influenced your decision, what things mattered most to you, where do you imagine finding the most fulfillment and why?
Is it something that would be fun for me to do? Would I be good at it? Is it something I would be passionate about? I would find the most fulfillment in child care, because unlike the other two choices, it's actually being of direct help to someone and providing care. I feel like I would learn a lot and grow as a person too.
Scenario 7
- Describe the main things that stand out to you in this picture.
The place- seems like a cave ,
I also noticed the ambience of the scene - lonely, dark, wet
And where I am standing at.
And that there's light showing from outside - I would like to go outside, feel a little trapped
- Why do you think/feel you focused on those things?
I guess the contrast of darkness and light from outside? Feel lonely and alone. I don't like that feeling too much. However, it seems a little fun too (feel adventurous)
I think I am considering how I would feel if I was there.
- Describe the strength with which this photo did or did not appeal to you and why?
This photo did not really appeal to me, because it seems a little lonely. However I also feel some kind of adventure happening so it seems fun too. But if in reality and I am there alone, I don't think I would be very happy.
Overall, I don't like the photo too much
