I responded to an ad on kijiji for a company called simple water services. There were about 15 people in my orientation and I was the only one that made it! The others didn't have what it takes to go far in sales. The best way I can describe my sales marketing is like a commercial (sham wow, miracle blade) where they come into your house and do a performance based around your families needs and water/ water consumption.
We do a precip test which shows all the rock and sediment that hasn't been filtered out of your drinking water (unless they're on a well). We also test the softness and purity of the water, and the water conditioners i sell soften water and remove all sediments and chemicals (chlorine, ammonia, fluoride). It leaves your skin a lot softer; you don't need to use fabric softener; you use a tenth of the normal soap you would with your normal hard water; you only need a dime sized amount of shampoo (for real!!!);your clothes last a lot longer;your appliances like hot water tanks, dishwasher, and washimg machines last a lot longer, you don't ever get calcium/sediment deposits in your sinks, toilets, tubs/showers (which means way less cleaning); and the list goes on. That's just for the conditioned water, not the water purifier.
How we get into the people's home is we call in and tell them that we have a free gift for them (a $150 shower head) and all we need is their opinion on our product.
If you work great with people and have the capacity to get them excited then you'll do very well.
Oh, and the 2 units together cost 6295, but we also throw in a 5 year supply of soaps and sometimes a 2000 dollar set of pots and pans.
@Dylio
I'm happy that you are doing great.
I'm also considering career in sales atm. Can you share some details of your work? ie. what do you do besides talking with people, and out of curiosity, what do you talk about with them?
