Are there any other ESTP's on here working in sales?

I just got a new job selling water purifying and conditioning products, and I'm doing GREAT!!! My sales to demos ratio is currently sitting at 1:4, definitely above the national average for the company and above the beginner ratio of 1:10. People say I'm very personable, and I always make good friends with my clients and barely even talk about my product when I'm with them. The best part- IT DOESNT FEEL LIKE WORK!!! We sit around and make lovely conversation, and i get paid to talk to people all day! I never even lift a finger!!! I think what helps me do well is that I'm never shy or nervous, which is what you need to succeed in sales. My severe extroversion is a definite asset to my success! but the definite best thing about this job- at the rate im going I'll be making 6 figures a year. the average sales rep earns between $50,000-$150,000 a year, I'll have my student loan paid off in no time :)

If youre an ESTP, what is your profession?

ALSO! My life has turned for the great. I found a great guy, and I quit partying. The most I'll drink is an occasional glass of wine. Quitting partying has given me a lot more money, and ditching all my drinking buddys has made me a lot more successful. If you want to succeed in life, dont hang around people that will bring you down to their level; surround yourself with people that you want to be. My road to success has been paved and is now being treaded. Ive learned this much, and have plenty much more to learn as well! I cant see myself going anywhere but up, with a lot of hard (well... easy but time consuming) work!

I'm happy that you are doing great.
I'm also considering career in sales atm. Can you share some details of your work? ie. what do you do besides talking with people, and out of curiosity, what do you talk about with them?

I responded to an ad on kijiji for a company called simple water services. There were about 15 people in my orientation and I was the only one that made it! The others didn't have what it takes to go far in sales. The best way I can describe my sales marketing is like a commercial (sham wow, miracle blade) where they come into your house and do a performance based around your families needs and water/ water consumption.

We do a precip test which shows all the rock and sediment that hasn't been filtered out of your drinking water (unless they're on a well). We also test the softness and purity of the water, and the water conditioners i sell soften water and remove all sediments and chemicals (chlorine, ammonia, fluoride). It leaves your skin a lot softer; you don't need to use fabric softener; you use a tenth of the normal soap you would with your normal hard water; you only need a dime sized amount of shampoo (for real!!!);your clothes last a lot longer;your appliances like hot water tanks, dishwasher, and washimg machines last a lot longer, you don't ever get calcium/sediment deposits in your sinks, toilets, tubs/showers (which means way less cleaning); and the list goes on. That's just for the conditioned water, not the water purifier.

How we get into the people's home is we call in and tell them that we have a free gift for them (a $150 shower head) and all we need is their opinion on our product.

If you work great with people and have the capacity to get them excited then you'll do very well.

Oh, and the 2 units together cost 6295, but we also throw in a 5 year supply of soaps and sometimes a 2000 dollar set of pots and pans.

I'm a gymnastics instructor. But I've had offers to be "salesman," "sales manager," "techinical sales specialist," and my favorite, "sales account executive." I almost fell for the last one.

Forgot to mention that I'm also considering sales and wondered what others think. I'm 24 and I'd probably be selling insurance if I ever did sales. I wonder what it takes and how much effort is involved.
