Crazy Music Tastes?

Many Different Music Tastes?

So i was wondering about this, do all ISFPs have a wide(and a bit weird) variety of music tastes?
i would think the combination of sensing and feeling would allow us to like a bunch of different styles of expressing ourselves. Of course in my case, my music tastes have been heavily influenced by family, since I was introduced to different music tastes by them.

Just to give you a sort of idea of what i mean, heres a few of my fav music groups/composers:
nightwish,
mozart,
super junior,
qntal,
therion,
Dvorak,
Beethoven,
mblaq,
mumford and sons,
schubert,
chopin,
the beatles,
the monkeys,
journey,
Muse(before they were popular, this last album is meh)
Linkin park(before they started swearing)
Evanescence
handel,
the four tops
the supremes
the temptations
van canto
vampire weekend
vivaldi
...
i pretty much love everything, what about you guys? Are your tastes simliar? Or completelY different?
also, i found it interesting, on some random inaccurate personality test i was taking one day, i found a question worth asking..
it was: would you rather live without laughter or without music?
what would you pick?
i picked laughter, since i couldnt live without music.

I listen to anything if it's good. Period. Quality over style.

Is it weird that I don't think the list you posted is all that crazy?

I do listen to a wide variety of music though so...yeah.

The way I see it is; If it's catchy, listen to it. Who cares what genre it is! I wish more people were open-minded like that though. In school I got called "Devil Worshipper", "Wannabe Goth", "Freak" all because I had some heavy metal on my iPod, hahaha.

I love, love, love good Classical music, but on the contrary to what classical aficionados would say about themselves, I'm undiscriminating in my tastes. ;-) I just love good music. And yeah, it tends to cover the broad spectrum.

But there are some kinds of music I don't particularly like--angry music, or music that portrays hate, or demeaning music--music that demeans others, in particular women or innocence. I'm also very anti-pop. Shallow music that follows a formula for pop success--unless it's been parodied by Weird Al. He is so incisive in his wit, that he shows the silliness and shallowness of much of modern pop, rock and hip hop, that I like what he's done to it. ;-) and I can bear those musical styles when he does it.

But if I had to be honest, impressionistic music, or Bach or some of the better new age artists--Yanni, Vangelis, Andreas Vollenweider, among them would be my favorites, as well as a fair amount of a cappella Christian music, (Think Glad), but also traditional a cappella choirs also--the purity of just the human voice really speaks to me. :)

I guess, reading over what I just wrote--rather ecclectic. ;-)

@Fear Itself
my title was a wrong choice of words, it was around three in the morning or something and thats just what came to mind. Usually when i say crazy i mean something along the lines of a bit out there. Since ive had to actually introduce my friends to some of these bands, (and sometimes they dont like my tastes) so i guess ive been conditioned to think my tastes are weird. But i dont think its a bad thing, since ive always liked being different!

I have this hipster music mentality where I know of so many underground artists that nobody has ever heard of, and those who know about these artists are considered to have fantastic music taste (and navigation skills) in my eyes. I'm like a selfish child in a candy shop when it comes to albums and bands, because I want to keep them all for myself. They're my little treasure. I found them, and they're mine. Though that doesn't help them in case of increasing popularity, but they're just too good... I need to keep them to myself. Mine.

I do listen to a variety of shit. My iTunes playlist is a compilation of middle aged mom's favourites, 14 year old white boy who likes hiphop, abstract introverted hipster artist music junkie, and funky cold medina.

I listen to pretty weird music...usually indie rock or folk type stuff, but I like pretty much all genres, usually not rap or country. I love classical. Usually, I look for music with great lyrics, though. When there are no lyrics, I like suuper weird bands, I guess, like Shpongle and Infected Mushroom. I never think of it as weird, though hahah. It keeps my mind entertained!

I seem to be in the same situation, I doubt any of my friends have heard any of the artists I listen to.
I tend to look for lots of new stuff to listen to daily, going genre by genre.
Lately I've listened to lots of ambient, noise, breakcore and shoegaze. Mixing in some hip-hop, jazz, funk, J-pop and all sorts of electronic.

If you like shoegaze, you should check out Ulrich Schnauss :) A Strangely Isolated Place is my favorite album by him

High five! And yes I did see Isam and it.was.awwwwwwesome. Flat out magical.
I also saw Squarepusher right after Ufabulum came out, another awesome show.
Seeing plaid live was a treat as well, drove from Minneapolis to Chicago to see em and it was worth it.
Have you seen any of these artists I listed?

Yes I second this recommendation.
I have pretty wide taste too. And I tend to get reallyinto certain bands/songs when the mood takes me and I get a bit obsessed!

It might be interesting to look at what functions go with what bands, if you get what I mean.

Some examples of bands I like

Blink 182 (I see them as a really Se-Fi kinda bad - anyone concur?) and similar silly punk pop artists
Lana del Rey, Florence and the Machine, Bat for Lashes (dreamy Fi/Ni kinda stuff I'd say?)
Foo Fighters
Nirvana
Motown artists
Some metal (e.g. Slipknot but I have to be in the mood)
Lots of classic rock stuff like Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Rolling Stones
'Emo' pop bands like Brand New and Jimmy Eat World
And also there is a huge place in my heart for cheesy pop XD Taylor Swift anyone?

I don't spend so much time getting into unknown/new bands now as I did when I was a teenager, hence my list is pretty mainstream :)

Oh, eclectic would be an understatement.
Mostly hard rock and metal (I'd say about 80% of the time), but since I listen to music 24/7, that 20% is still a lot.
Country, rap, blues, metal, techno, dubstep, alternative, classic rock, classical music... everything.

If you shuffled my iPhone music it would have Rush's Tai Shan then Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah, Pool of Booze, Booze, Booza from Volbeat, then a mix of Better Off Alone. Hugh Laurie's Let Them Talk then London Symphony's Bethoven, Eminem's Till I Colapse, then Dave Matthew's Grey Street. Then some Iron Maiden, a dash of Skrillex, a sprinkle or two of punchy pop songs and Parmalee's Carolina.
I mean, I love everything. It's just everything from Alternative Rock through Classic Rock all the way to Metal that speaks so deeply to my soul.
I have every Dave Matthews, Shinedown, Volbeat and Rush song known to man. And if you know Rush, you know how much music that actually is. ;)

Music feeds my soul...
It's cool to hear what everyone else listens to.

I haven't :( I ALMOST saw ISAM 2.0, but it was sold out - all my friends got to go I was so jealous! And I almost went to Plaid at this small place, so it would've been pretty cool... I saw some pretty sick shows last year though
