Might be overloaded from the day's plans and the great to-do list.
All part of over-thinking (though not intentional).

If I decide on what to make for dinner at 10am, it's a done deal.
If I wait until 4pm, I'll stare into the fridge 16 times and finally decide on something at 7pm. :laughing:

Jot things down in a pocket book so that you can forget about them, without forgetting about them.

Try maybe listening to music, or do one thing at a time instead of multitasking, if that's your problem. Write and organize thoughts on paper so it makes more sense to your mind.
