PRO: karate: P. S. I went for a year and stopped for 6 months after that = now(in my first semester)
Sensai = Teacher
-You get to learn karate
-You are with a wonderful team(everyone is much older than you)
-It may raise your confidence
-You can lose weight if you eat right
-You can make new friends
-People there are like your family
-you have a bond with the sensai
-People are very nice there
-and there’s nick. (funny guy, can be an ass tho, but he doesn’t bother me (he has a funny face :)< ))
-there is time for meditation
-you get workout
-You lose weight, you look good
-You may become your dream: a model for photographers(been offered when I was fit. Then it stopped being my dream. Now again :D)(fyi my bro is a photographer and my whole family is photogenic. I got belly fat. o_o)
-right infront of your house
-It’s not a daily routine thing. But it may be because of sensai calling you a lazy ass everyday you don’t go.
-But sensai cares about you dearly
-Oh. and the sensai is a funny dude and makes fun of you all the time :D until he hugged you a year later when he found out you did weed o_O (which I don’t really do anymore. 2 months off already. Overdid it. oopsie)
-Some times you can have the whole italian family over and since sensai and his wife are italien too, you just die of laughing too much (and burn extra calories sir)
-week day karate class -> 7:30 pm till 8:30pm (12:30pm on saturday .-.)
-Less stress!
-When you do a lot of karate, you become cool ASF

CON: karate:
--But another type of stress... o_o"
-Sensai can make you feel too pressured
-Sensai knows your Facebook (at some point texts me everyday -.-)
-Sensai knows too much about you (at some point kept making annoying jokes about it, that’s why I left(one of the reasons))
-Sometimes you may get lazy and stop going = work for nothing and a sensai on your back
-The subscription is for a whole year. about 400$ or 350$. That’s half your budget right now. (and I might need a gym pass just in case for the days the dojo (karate class) is closed)
-That means less shopping(Cuz you don’t have a job, you have 900$ in checking and 2000$ in savings account. plus, you've already spent a 1000$!)
-….not very woman-ish? IF I started to care about that in the future?
-Sensai bugs you ALOT! lemme alone ):
-Sensai calling you lazy all the time (especially during school time. goooood)

Just so I could make a decision cuz I really don't know
and it could help you guys in the future, but every place is very different. This place is very small and new with many students and most places are bigger and more strict. I hear that most teachers don't get that personal with you. Actually, Most sensai's are definetly not like mine. they are just teachers. But hey, don't get me wrong. they can be cool as hell either way :)

~~~~~~(optional)~~~~~~~
I did karate in the worst year of my life. When I started karate, the very best things happened in my life that changed me. Then everything dropped as soon as school started. Then I started doing really shitty decisions because of it, and had the worst year of my life, but full of experiences and stories to tell, that changed me again, negatively, but i'm probably more mature now. But would you really want to go back to the past? I mean… I could start thinking that the past was just fun stories to tell, but looking back deeper is just really sad.
Basically: my past can be very :D or very )’: and I need to exercise cuz I'm the coolest person when I do
When I did this, I was very isolated. I went to this during the summer everyday, and my life changed(because of something else). I started to go less during less during school and lost what changed my life. (not because I went less). And I got fat ._. again
If you really enjoyed it, do it.
If you think it will help you be a better person in some way (weight wise, personality wise, strength wise), do it.
There's nothing wrong with "going back to the past" if it's going to make you a better person in the future.
It looks like your pros list is longer than your cons, which means you probably want to do it. ;)
I don't do Karate, but I practice a rare Chinese martial art called Xinyiliuhe. (Lu style)
Also *bumps my old thread on ENFPs and martial arts* http://personalitycafe.com/enfp-for...e-practice-form-self-defence-martial-art.html
Personally I have no cons from practice.
My Shifu never pressures us or makes us uncomfortable. He is very fatherly, though still demands we work on getting a good quality of skill, but not in a stressful way. Some of my older gong fu brothers/teachers can be strict or perfectionists, pointing out flaws in technique, but I like it that way as it's the only way to get better really. I myself am perfectionistic in my passions and so like having my flaws addressed. In fact the more interaction and critique I get the more happy I am, for I have something to work on to become great (though I do appreciate a positive along with it too, so not to just destroy my spirit lol). Not a day goes by when I don't train, I truly wish to become a "master" of the art I practice.
Since it's a passion of mine, I love being able to talk to other people who have the same amount of passion and dedication to the arts and we can flap our gums all day about it. Since nobody in my family or general group of friends have an interest in such, and being extroverted... well you can draw the conclusions.
"I" also added my teacher to my FB first xD, just overall a great guy in general, fantastic teacher, knowledgeable, wise, noble, considerate, fun and warm. (I figure he is an ENFJ).
I'm an open book, so I don't care how much or how little people know about me either.
Hahahaha nice reply :) Yeah I guess I got too stressed out about other things, and whenever I get extremely lazy, where I could just quit my Sensai has my back and calls me to get me out of my house, so that's what kept me going the whole year. And about passion, When I started out, I had such a huge passion for it aswell that I was going to the dojo pretty much everyday. I refused to miss one course lol. but I guess because of school, i'd come home always drained and lazy, and so i'd miss a lot of days and eventually get bored as hell since karate didn't really surround me anymore. Also, I was tired, lazy, and cranky, and I had my teacher on my back on Facebook, didn't help much x:
But if it were summer, i wouldn't mind lol xD he's an amazing teacher too lol
Now that I can do my own schedule for school, I probably will be going back... maybe :)<
Thanks for the replies guys :)< both of your replies was helpful~~~
I don't know why but this whole title and post made me burst into laughter.
