Do you think there's a correlation between MBTI type and how readily you use labels to define yourself?

Do you tend to embrace/identify with labels or eschew/reject them? Like liberal/conservative feminist, communist, socialist, libertarian, socialist, environmentalist? Not so much things which are more personal identifiers like vegan, or gay, straight, bi, trans, religion, nationality, but some people can play up those too.I tend to avoid them as much as possible, it just seems to create more of a 'group mentality, although I do realise sometimes having names can help mobilise a movement. I have views that would fit all over the spectrum, and feel that by putting my lot in one there are all kinds of associations which don't accurately reflect my multi-faceted nature.

Fe is labels I heard? I'm okay with labels sometimes, I am very aware of labels I guess you could say. Labels help people see who I am, labels help people define me in a way I want them to.

Not a labels person.

I'm wondering if this is going to turn into a Fe/Fi trend...

I don't like the general imprecision that tends to accompany them, which can mean - as far as applying labels to myself personally - either avoiding them altogether, or modifying them to make it clear what is intended. Political labels (or similar) tend to be so fraught with unwanted associations and implications that I generally find it best to steer clear of them. Generally, the thing for me is that I want it to be clear and unambiguous what I mean when I say something - to the extent that labels aid that process, I'll employ them, but to the extent that they hinder it, they're best avoided.

I don't mind labels, as long as people look through them. And most people don't, they just stay at the label and think that is the person. So for personal use, I don't mind them. For people that simply can't look further than a label, it's terrifying. So generally no.
@Pilot, I think it will.

I used to use labels to describe myself a lot more than I do now. Mostly, I've realized that a lot of the things I believe in and do fall far outside the traditional constraints of the labels I choose. Like sure, I hang out with the nerds and consider myself a major geek, but at the same time I'm not actually interested in a lot of traditional nerd-geek stuff. I use the term "pagan" to describe my religious beliefs, but the term doesn't even come slightly close to describing my worldview and spiritual practice.

I guess also, I've had a hard time landing on labels for really basic things like my race and sexuality. Can I really call myself Native American if I look white and don't have any ties to the reservation except through my parents? Can I really call myself white if my family and heritage is Ojibwe? Can I be asexual, but still sometimes be attracted to people? Does it even make sense to call myself queer if my ideal relationship is a hetero one? Like what's the point of adopting any of these labels if I can't stick with any of them?

I dunno. Sometimes labels are a lot more work than they're worth.
