I've ALWAYS done this as long as I can remember reading..immediately opening the back cover flipping and skimming until I get to the front. It's like a mystery: how did this all begin? I cannot read a book or magazine from front to back.

I read through magazines somewhat randomly based on interest. I wouldn't do this with a novel for spoiler reasons unless I wasn't reading for my leisure but some other purpose.

I flip around a magazine. and I am not sure how you would read a novel backwards... it would be interesting though if there a was an app that took a kindle book or an ibook or whatever and rearranged it to reverse the sentence order. but not the word order.

Or reverse chapters. You could read it like that episode of sliders where they enter the universe where the arrow of time points in the opposite direction of theirs.

Before buying a book I'll always read the front, back and jackets first. I'll also check how many actual pages there are to the story prior to reading. Back to front in one go? No, I do not memento books. That is really weird!

I usually just skim through the entire book from the front first and then to the back.

Unless I find the book very interesting then I'll take the time to read the entire book slowly.

I do it because I'm left handed and it's easier for me to flip through starting from the back.

I read e-mails and various other things like PerC posts backwards.
Interesting, ever tried reading words upside down?

There are some cases in educational books where people start with the last chapters of a book, simply because it contains exercises which they are unable to solve at the moment, but it's kind of like showing the end result of letting you know beforehand what you will be capable of solving once you go through the material. It can be somewhat motivational. I've heard of people starting in the back also where they read backwards, where they don't understand squatdoodle of what they're doing but at the end it all makes sense because you keep getting more pieces to the puzzle. It's actually quite fun to do and often(definitely as an INTP) you start coming up with your own theories of how stuff happens, it's quite an innovative concept when you think of it.

Never heard of people doing it magazines or normal literature. But I can see it work to some extent with a normal novel, but don't read detective's then, because you'll be totally screwing up the structure of the book :p
