Silly as it may be for an adult to be quoting from Dr. Seuss, I want to share the last few lines -- the moral -- of my two favorite Seuss stories. They illustrate two principles that are important for me -- human equality and environmental responsibility.

Sneetches
...I'm quite happy to say
That the Sneetches got really quite smart on that day,
The day they decided that Sneetches are Sneetches
And no kind of Sneetch is the best on the beaches.
That day, all the Sneetches forgot about stars
And whether they had one, or not, upon thars.

The Lorax
"It's a Truffula Seed.
It's the last one of all!
You're in charge of the last of the Truffula Seeds.
And Truffula Trees are what everyone needs.
Plant a new Truffula. Give it clean water. And feed it fresh air.
Grow a forest. Protect it from axes that hack.
Then the Lorax
and all of this friends
may come back."

What are your favorite Seuss stories? Or least favorite? Why?

Horton: I meant what I said, and I said what I meant.
Morton: [sighs] An elephant's faithful one hundred percent.
Horton: That's my code, my motto.

I used this in one of the ENTJ threads. I like it because it talks about keeping ones word, loyalty and not backing down on commitments.

You're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So... get on your way!

So be sure when you step,
Step with care and great tact.
And remember that life's A Great Balancing Act.
And will you succeed? Yes!
You will, indeed! (98 and ¾ percent guaranteed)
Kid, you'll move mountains!

~from Oh, The Places You'll Go!

I like this one because it is about going after what you want. :)

same here, Oh, The Places You'll Go! is very ENTP of me, as we are in a world of possibilities. I am always looking towards the future, and looking forward. I also like these lines...

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself any direction you choose.
You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the guy who’ll decide where to go.
....
Out there things can happen and frequently do to people as brainy and footsy as you.

And when things start to happen, don’t worry. Don’t stew. Just go right along. You’ll start happening too.

I really relate, as I am independent, smart, and resourceful. Love it!

I've found that I enjoy Seuss more as an adult than I did as a kid. The silly words and simple rhymes seemed insulting to my trumped up INTJ superiority but now I see the genius.
