I've been doing it, published, various forms, across genres, since I was 19, but I count it from 21 because that's when I published a poem in a literary journal.

Why writing over computer programming?

The possibilities of depicting a fresh view or seeming experience of a fragmentary life similar enough to what others are living, or better, always interested me in thought; I just grew older and put the thoughts down on paper, fleshed them out to appeal to those who enjoy reading something reflecting, embodying as many senses as possible to make the words on the page, what they stand for, come to life, in a lively way.

Computer programming doesn't approach that; doesn't hold my interest like that; it's a necessary, and interesting job, for someone else to choose, or not.
