Emotional Music

Anyone else ever run into songs that impact you so much in a good way that you can't even sing along because you get so choked up? I love finding music like that!

Personal example: rx by theory of a deadman

I get this a lot with music. I listen to a lot of instrumental music though, Porter Robinson - Language comes to mind, or Dominik Eulberg & Gabriel Ananda - The Space Between Us...

Songs which trigger negative emotions in a good way? Dunno if I follow you there... like it's so beautiful that it's overwhelming?

I have a few songs which choke me up, but they aren't uplifting. Some because they speak too close to the truth, others just engage my sympathy.

Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls is probably the closest to what you're talking about. So beautiful it's emotional.

Kenji by Fort Minor, one of those that engages my empathy.

My Best Friend by Misty Miller

Just generally emotional, Landfill by Daughter

And many more personal ones.
I found this song around the first time I fell in love. And it speaks volumes to me.
There's nothing to sing and it's perfect this way :love-struck:

Kenji is an amazing song!!

Usually, my less happy music doesn't get ne choked up. I really only get choked uo when I'm already in an amazing mood and then hear a song that perfectly depicts my emotion. I'll get so happy while singing that I can't even get the words out lol

These two came to mind immediately.

I'm sure I can think of more.

Yeah! This song I find particularly...dynamic and gut-wrenching. The lyrics so perfectly match my occasional feelings of consummate ardor.

This one's also a tear-jerker, something pickpocketed from a random INFJ's Google+ account. Heh... :kitteh:

@Falling Foxes Iris and Name get right to my heart.

So... whenever I'm sad then I can listen to sad songs and kind of release my sadness, that's what I do. It's my constructive way of dealing with emotions.
One of my go-to songs this way is Landslide . There have been lots of covers, and Tori our INFP cousin does it well.

This always makes my eyes prickle a little when that melody comes in.

Here's one that moves me, gives me chills still after a thousand listens. I forgot about this one.

@Eugenia Shepherd @sylvirfoxx
Loved listening to those, had to snatch those for my playlists. (I already had Hurt though, so much better than the original... and I'm a NIN fan.)

@Eugenia you reminded me of these, a little long shot but maybe? Maybe you'd be interested.

Maybe either of you might like this.

I could keep going with all the songs I'd want to recommend of Shakey Graves. A modern blues-y vibe.

Yeah, I like that one!
I don't think of this one as emotional in a sad way (it's just vocals and instrumental), but it is slightly mournful, and there's something about it that I really like:

Also, yeah... Johnny Cash's version is absolutely amazing.

These 3 hit me in the stomach a little sometimes because I remember what was going on in my life at that point.

There's a few but these come to mind at the moment

Just because it's Selena Quintanilla and it makes it more sad.

And this bring back memories for me
