This sounds like fun BUT... the kids and I share one iTunes account, so it would be the family's top 25. I will take a look and see if I can pull out the ones that are mine, and post them later.

I think you should post the real list, just for humor's sake.

I actually use Spotify now, more than I use iTunes... and considering I downloaded it right when I got this new laptop, my iTunes statistics are not valid. Which makes me really mad because I want to do this. Hhhmph.

@Paradox1987 I'm loving all the Florence + the Machine and Laura Marling! :)

I would do this, but my top 25 is quite littered by depressing rock from when I was 14. xD That's just embarrassing to post.

This thread should be lovely to raid next time I'm looking for new music.

I'm half in love with Laura Marling . I don't think I've heard such intelligent song writing before. And there's something about Florence that just moves me.

If there was a top 100 I'd have the same problem I'd bet, I love my guilty pleasures haha.

Not SO sure about the order as I share with my teen aged kids, but this list should be pretty accurate in content anyway, as I tried to pull out those I listen to rather heavily. I am not sure if this shows what we listen to on the Mac or what the pod plays in the car. We car jam a TON.

  1. East Jesus Nowhere – Green Day
  2. Europa – Globus
  3. Pumped Up Kicks – Foster the People
  4. To Glory - Two Steps from Hell
  5. Remedy – Seether
  6. Grapevine Fires – DeathCab for Cutie
  7. One Truth – Globus
  8. Letters From the Sky – Civil Twilight
  9. Run – Snow Patrol
  10. Felicia – The Constellations
  11. Sick of You – Cake
  12. Think I’m in Love – Beck
  13. Train in Vain – the Clash
  14. Strawberry Swing – Cold Play
  15. I Want you To – Weezer
  16. Crackerbox Palace – George Harrison
  17. Dazz – Brick
  18. Home – Mark Broussard
  19. Home – Sheryl Crowe
  20. Cemeteries of London – ColdPlay
  21. Twelve Thirty – Mamas and the Papas
  22. Bittersweet Symphony – the Verve
  23. The Story in Your Eyes – the Moody Blues
  24. Baker Street – Gerry Rafferty
  25. Fight the Power – The Isley Bros.

I honestly don't necessarily DISagree with my kids. My 11 YO son just happens to be going through a mean Linkin Park phase right now, and both kids went off the deep end for Owl City awhile back. :)

We are real lucky to have great overlap in our musical tastes. We LOVE turning the family onto something new or different, because we almost always know the others are going to love it if one of us does.

That is not hardly as terrible as I was hoping for!

I was expecting, you know... Justin Bieber, Kidz Bop, and Hannah Montana...

Thanks heavens my kids are WAY more hip than THAT! I don't understand the popularity of Kidz Bop though - a bunch of cheesy cover tunes? Why not just listen to the original?

Hahahaha my top twenty five are all songs from my Disney Playlist which I listen to when I'm working around the house and such. =P I don't know why, but I find Disney songs super motivating :) I like to "dance" around the house and sing the songs at the top of my lungs when no one is home. My other top played group of songs is my Christmas Playlist.

What a fun idea!

Don't feel like writing the top 25 but here are the top 5 songs:

Too Cool for School - Fountains of Wayne
Dracula's Tango - Toto Coelo
Valley of the Dolls - Mylo
She Wolf - Shakira
Electric Barbarella - Duran Duran

And yeah, none of these songs have anything to do with each other. My iPod has attention deficit disorder.
