I most recently got interested in Enneagram. I scored a 4w3. But I wondering what's the difference between an enfp with enneagram 4 vs 7? And what do they act like?
I noticed after reviewing a chart on here that most enfps are 4s or 7s. Do you think an enfp that are 7s act like Phoeba off Friends ? And enfp that are 4s act like Angela off Bones or Bridget Jones?

I'm sorry that I left off the other enfps with enneagram other than 4 or 7.

I get called Phoebe from Friends often, but I am a 6w7, or possibly a 7w6. DON'T CONFUSE ME!

I'm a male 7 bordering on 6.

I try to be as hospitable and compassionate as possible. I like to make people feel comfortable being themselves so I try not to impose any unneeded expectations on anyone.

I tend to go with the flow of a situation. I'll break out into weird dancing or chanting or something strange if the time is right, but I can also simmer down and have a real conversation.

I could definitely see your "Phoebe from Friends" theory being true. I had never thought about that. Ha.

I would speculate that Bill Cosby could be a male example to your Phoebe analogy.

Now that i have taken a better test, I believe that ENFPS who score 4 on the test probably more hospitable then those who score 7. (As i type its coming to me now). Where as people who score 7 are hospitable but are probably way more outgoing or risky. These are the two components that i believe truly make up the ENFP. The hospitableness and our outgoigness.

:unsure:But who knows, I may be wrong..Tell me what you think.

I would have to agree with you LivInGMyStory that enfp will be hospitable or outgoing. That the 7 are more outgoing than the 4. And the 4 more hospitable than a 7. And also, that 4 and 7 have both features, in each case one is more dominate than the other depending on your enneagram. Because at time I can be outgoing and risky, especially when it come to love but I don't know if that just the enfp in me or 4.

If I made some grammatical mistake, I'm sorry. I'm writing this very late at night.

7's run on positive emotions, 4's run on negative. That sentence helped me figure out whether I was primarily a 7 or 4, since I had taken many tests and received both types.

I am very artistic and romantic, which is like a four, but I do not run my life on negative emotions, even though I experience them often (like now, unfortunately). But I'm an adventurer. Once I'm done with those sad or angry thoughts, I stay away from anything that would revive them. And then I'm off to explore the world or paint pictures in Paris or inspire the world toward moral goodness.

So I am a 7w8, but also very close to a 4w3 and a 2w3.

I don't remember where I took the test, but if you search on google you can find websites where you can take the test. But thanks to all who reply to my question. But I find an article on The Enneagram Blogspot that tells the difference between enfp that are 4 or 7 here the link, if you want to check it out :The Enneagram Blogspot: New! 4w3 vs. 7w6 - Misidentifying.

The article is pretty good!! It basically said that enfp that are 4s are emotionally based and enfp that are 7s are the thinking based. Cbella what you said about negative and positive emotions are mention the article

I wouldn't say it's that simple. It depends a lot on the health level of the person and their general demeanor.

If you look at: 7 - Enneagram Type Seven: The Enthusiast you can see 7s' actions in the context of them trying to avoid being deprived or in pain - their basic fear. Likewise, you can see 4s' actions as an attempt to gain a sense of personal significance, as per here: 4 - Enneagram Type Four: The Individualist Both types can be very negative, as well as very positive.

Personally, I'm quite sure of being 4w5. I wouldn't say that I concentrate on the negative. Rather, I try to transcend negative issues and ever strive for my higher ideals, as dictated by my intuition and feelings. More often than not, I'm happy. This, I think, is the result of me trying to make my life such as to have a minimal amount of negative things while maximising the amount of positive ones.

The definition of negative and positive are also more complex than that. For example, generally negatively perceived but philosophically deep issues can be full of meaning and thus have a positive effect. Then again, commonly thought to be positive but shallow issues can end up having a negative effect.

Sorry for perhaps being less than articulate here. I'm getting somewhat sleepy.

Thank you very much for your post, Ungweliante :) I took the MBTI and ennegram test today, and I tested ENFP and 4w5. I wasn't sure if such a combination was possible, and I felt concerned about the stereotype the four ennegram receives. I'm not drawn to darkness for darkness sake, though I do believe evil needs to be addressed. I know I wouldn't like to hang around people who are excessively morbid, and when my mind does reach that stage (which it sometimes does), I tend to shut myself off until I've fixed the situation; nobody needs to listen to me mope needlessly.

I don't like the stereotype that fours receive, although there are probably some on the very unhealthy side of the spectrum who are like that. I think I was that way when I was in middle-school, but it eventually stopped, and now I think I'm over it.

I know this may sound silly, but I didn't know if being an ENFP and a four ennegram was possible. Most of my life I believe I was an extrovert, because of bad experiences in school and my hyper-sensitivity. But I truly am energized by being around other people. My family sees my as an introvert, however, because I don't have very many friends. That's one reason I'm still kind of tentative about the ENFP type, even though I'm beginning to suspect it may fit me well. I am kind of an attention-whore, and I really, really want to be appreciated.

I'm sorry if I moved this thread into too much of a tangent, but I just wanted to express my gratitude :) I made a post earlier about this question, but now that I feel it's mostly been answered, I think I'll move on and introduce myself to the community :)

I don't believe the enneagram can well portray the nuances and infinite complexities of billions of people.
It does so far better than MBTI ever could.

MBTI = 16 possibilities. That's it.

Enneagram = When you include wings, tritypes, and variant stackings, there's literally hundreds of possibilities.

You sound like me. I think you're an ENFP, not INFP.

Run life on negative emotions? Maybe the 4 is more inclined to an unhealthy lifestyle... I don't think anyone "runs" or gains energy off of negative emotions. A skilled, experienced 4 may know how to express emotions through a suitable outfit but I would never side with the contention that negativity drives anyone.
