Good afternoon :)
I'm an ENTP. I've been wondering about the political persuasions of my type for a while; I only know 3 other ENTPs, and we're all republicans.
So here's a poll.
This should be interesting

Not enough options on the poll. Where is the one for non-political?

No worries, I didn't. Just thought your poll was rather limiting to two ideologies. ENTPs I know of wouldn't like such confinement.

I meant to put an option for 'other', but I must've posted in too quick a hurry...... anyone know how to add a poll option? :)

I think you just make a new one. Just don't make a poll. Just ask other ENTPs what their political views are. I'm sure some will respond. Prepare for sarcasm.

Sarcasm? Not in this section of the forum.

I'll keep this one up; most everyone falls somewhere on the conservative-liberal spectrum. I'm interested to find out what the ENTPs of the internet think. I'm new to this website, still in the honeymoon phase :) feel free to call me a n00b etc. etc. for my lack of poll options.

And let's keep it civil (haha, fat chance)

and thanks for being polite, man. you seems cool.

I disagree with the above statement. I don't fall even remotely close. And I am not ignorant of politics either.

Thanks. You too.

ENTPs are probably all over the spectrum, I used to identify as one and I am socially liberal but economically conservative, I know another ENTP who had similar views, and the other ENTP I know is a socialist.

imma go kill myself
Eh, I wouldn't worry..... I don't think a strong conservative ENTP exists anyway :p In fact, I'd be surprised if less than half here are "socially liberal, economically mixed"

Man @peterjbrown96 please put up something a little more diverse. Keep in mind here you are talking to a bunch of ENTPs. A VERY large number of us are going to fall into categories that are not even alluded toward in this survey. I'd love to participate in this thread by my political beliefs are nowhere near anything you have up here (and I'm not ignorant to politics either, as matter of fact I deal with international political relationships on an almost daily basis).

Also may I suggest rephrasing and or being quite a bit more specific in your initial post request. While the bulk of the posters here either live in or come from America, it's not always the case. There are quite a few governmental systems our there in this big world with lots of different beliefs above and beyond the constraints of this Republic that practices limited representative democracy that we call the good ol' U.S.A.

If this is a survey that is narrowed to specifically gathering political views that line up with common American political system than please state it rather than assuming that it'd be expected. I for one only have the slightest bit of commonality in my political views with those of the American system. I was actually quite disappointed when I clicked on the thread and all the choices were limited to "The Big Two" in America.

If you are planning on leaving it as an America only thing might I suggest this article for a read: Beyond Red vs. Blue: The Political Typology | Pew Research Center for the People and the Press it might give you ideas for the diversity within the American system that would round out your survey.

Wow, I'm inspired. how open minded of you.

I realize there is more to politics than Democrat or Republican. However, I find it hard to believe that your beliefs fall nowhere on the conservative-liberal spectrum. It may have something to do with the 'nonconformist' attitude that many internet ENTPs seem to enjoy exhibiting. I went through a phase myself.

What, specifically, do you believe that doesn't fall on this spectrum and that we darned Americans just can't grasp? To clarify, when i say conservative-liberal, I am talking about issues, not candidates. I am asking which side you tend to favor; I've found that this general divide exists everywhere I've ever lived and visited.

And don't hate on the dichotomous spectrum for its simplicity; the real ENTPs I know won't criticize something based solely on its simplicity, as long as it is effective. The ENTPs on the internet seem to be involved in some unofficial 'who can have the strongest Ne' contest and will immediately discount anything that isn't difficult to grasp. But hey, I'm just a n000000b. I probably just haven't gotten the memo yet.

I don't mind you disagreeing, as long as you aren't indirect and/or condescending about it. You were both.

You are a cool guy for all I know. I'm thanking your post, since it's well written and contributes to the spirit of the thread. I hope we meet again under more favorable circumstances.

Don't mess with MURICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have less that 15 posts; otherwise there'd be a picture of a bald eagle, American flag, Ronald Reagan riding a velociraptor, etc.

And please just let this thread die. It was put up in a hurry, in case you couldn't tell:wink:

Not on the internet, at least :)

most of the NTs I know are conservative. All of the ENTPs I know (personally) consistently vote Republican (though, I admit, only 1 of them listens to Rush Limbaugh regularly:wink:)

Most of the guys on the internet, regardless of type, seem to favor liberalism. Just wanted to see if my hunch was correct :)

I said to let this thread die. I'm a durn hypocrite, I admit it.

Abstaining from voting is not allowed in your country? Seriously?
You can vote with an empty ballot. But you have to vote. Everyone's opinion matters.
Plus, there arent just 2 parties.
Nor just 1 president.

And congress votes dont go to one person, but instead percentages are used.
(egg: city has 100 congressmen quota, every party has 100 congressmen candidates. party A takes 65% of votes, so they get 65 of the quota,Party C gets %5, they send 5 people etc etc. They cant randomly choose their congressmen, they have a previously chosen sequence.)

So actually every vote does matter a little bit more ^^.
