I constantly hear and read about the "ultimate pairing" of the ENTP with the INFJ personalities. I must admit, the friends of mine who are ENTPs are the ones with which I get along most effortlessly. However, I have never explicitly asked them what their opinions are in INFJs and why they may find INFJs attractive. I am too shy to ask this to their faces, so if anyone has some insight, it would be very much appreciated! Thanks! :D

I , personally, don't believe the hype.

I would not jive well with the defined INFJ architecture.

I need a well organized and very emotional woman.

Personal choice to be sure and probably is Freudian in its nature due to my childhood and mother issues.

@awhiterabbit I'd try the ENTP forum. There are also lots of threads on this already probably.

PS It kinda sounds like you just want them to tell you how awesome you are instead of why the pairing in particular would work... if you're looking for the pairing in theory:

I've heard good things about the INTP-INFJ relationship, so if you're, uh, human-hunting, I would start there. If you want to know why your friends like you, every relationship is different, and you'll have to suck it up and ask them directly. Personally, I don't know any ENTPs that have an electrical connection with INFJs, though they seem to be friendly. I also know an ENTP who hates my INFJ friend, mostly because he thinks he's an idiot.

I'm not fishing for compliments at all! I just want to have a look inside why some ENTPs are infatuated with INFJs. I know several, trust me. I'm trying to gain some insight is all. Thanks for the suggestions!

ENTP female here.

I have nothing against INFJs in theory. I do think that the male-ENTP, female-INFJ match probably works a lot better than the female-ENTP/male-INFJ match just based on type stereotypes, but there are several other female ENTPs and female INFJs who would disagree with me, especially female INFJs who have their professional lives together and don't want to date a male ENTP that's in "I have no idea what I want to do with my life" mode.

INFJs tend to pick careers based on what jibes with their values and what they find worthwhile, or even enjoyable. Money is a secondary or even tertiary motivator, but since they're Js, they usually have a good time holding down a stable role. This doesn't work for me as I absolutely swoon when a guy's all about money, power, and world domination!!! : )

I`m INTP but am basically near to ENTP so I post a reply.
INFJs are smart, mysterious & caring: a very interesting combination. They are deep in their thoughts & feelings, that is important to NT`s who get easily bored with so much of shallow relationships & conversations out there. Generally Ns are rare, and they get along better with another N. On the other hand INFJ`s have a well developed feeling side that attracts NTs who typically lack it. With NFs we can experience a deep relationship, and it is not limited to romantic ones.
INFJs are judging despite xNTPs. This adds more interest and challenge. Probably INFJ is more conservative than xNTP: he is more likely to respect social norms & care about what others think about them which could frustrate the NTP. Besides they can get too emotional. I know a INFJ can be annoyed by some of INTP traits too. However considering all pros & cons, INFJ & xNTP would make a good match.
