Are you attracted to ENFP's?

I'm in the beginning of what could be a relationship with one (he's tested ESFJ) right now, but I think he gets frustrated that I haven't told him flat out that I like him or seem as into it as he does. I like to move slowly because of past bad experiences, and for some reason I think he's frustrated when I do the whole two steps forward, one step back thing. He wants me to text him first all the time "so he can make sure I really want to," but I don't for the very reason I want to make sure that he likes me.

I'm thinking that my whole free-spirited thing isn't really gonna fly...especially cuz he's a Marine.. and I'm not really sure I want to get into that anyway. But I do want to get to know him better and see where it goes.

So ESFJ's, what are potential pitfalls in relationships that you have found? Is there something I'm doing, like being kind of standoffish, that could break this before it starts? What should I do to make sure he really makes an effort to get to know me better and is respectful?

As a side note, I really like ESFJ's, and my best friend is a female ESFJ. I like the traditional thing because it balances out some of the craziness in my life. I like that they listen and understand how I'm feeling--most of the ESFJ's in my life seem to know how to look at a situation objectively and be optimistic, not letting their emotions get in the way too much. There are a lot of qualities in my ESFJ best friend that i love, like the extreme dedication and stubbornness and not really caring what other people think too much.

Being an ESFJ Male....they like to know where they stand in a new relationship.......so don't wait too long.
Thank you for the insight! He seems to need things pretty concrete. I think I made an improvement today when I texted him first, and he actually told me he'd wanted to talk to me that day but was waiting until I said something.

ESFJ males definetly need to be reassured of their self worth in the relationship IMO, and need to know where they stand as a past person said. :)

but don't get too down on yourself or anything. If it is meant to be, it is meant to be. Good luck with him!

I totally agree....also they wear their heart on their sleeves. They need to know that their input is valuable and they like a lot of verbal affirmation.
