I think one of our kids is an ESFP and was just curious what you ESFPs were like as kids? Any common phrases you would say or helpful tips for us SJ parents. Obviously trying not to crush her awesome freedom loving soul with my SJ-ness. Would love to hear any stories so I can see if that sounds like our daughter. Thanks!

it’s awesome you’re aware and consciously trying not to crush her!
As a kid I was very happy-go-lucky. It was so important for me to feel loved that I tried so hard to please everyone- parents, teachers, friends. She’ll naturally try to do the right thing all the time, but may follow friends because they’ll be most important. Make sure she has good rules and consequences that are firm, but not crushing.
The most important thing is that she feels like you are on her side and have her back. If she feels that from you, she’ll respond best to your guidance and advice. If she feels like you don’t get her, don’t like her, or are too hard on her and expect too much she’ll pull away and not care about what you have to say.
