I figured I'd carve out a space of my own instead of spamming the "random thoughts" threads. I imagine my hearth would look a little like the Night Elf inn's from WoW:

Or the Sylvari home in GW2 (The Grove):

I have my NEW standing desk all set up and I'm never going back to sitting, lol - it's complete with part of my mini cacti collection & one of my favorite cards.

Pretty! I have one of those same succulents on my desk. I think it’s called Echeverría? I can’t tell from the photo if it’s the same planter, but mine is blue also, with gold stars and the sun. The plant was sold at holiday time with glitter on the leaves so that it looked like a dazzling star.

Ma’am- I have LOVED your posts in the INFP forum. I connect to the pictures you decide to post. I think they are so beautiful and whimsical. You might want to make a post in the INFP so that your fans can find you here. I know of at least 2 members that love your pictures, but there is no way I will write down their names and call them out. They may not know you moved here and really start to miss you, where did she go?

Have fun, I love the blog section.

Awesome! I have 3 others not pictured in random spots around my house! I LOVE them. The glitter on their leaves is the cutest idea ever. I love them because they're easy to care for and pretty hardy. I accidentally overwatered one I had from 2 years ago and it died. I just think they're so cute and the idea of being glittery and prickly is something I love. "I'm shiny but do not touch me." 🤣

I love mini orchids too (hey, your username!) But I have no idea how to care for them, there seems to be 284838 steps. I used to have several but after their blooms died, I could never get them to bloom again.

Oh that’s cool—I guess they are the same plants then. I had one, but knocked it over accidentally and it split and started growing roots from the top, so now I have two lol.

As for the orchids, I could never get them to rebloom either. I think they need cooler night time temperatures to rebloom, and it’s not feasible for temperature-controlled indoor living. At least I haven’t found the way.

How sweet, I had no idea anyone noticed my activity there. I see the different type forums as different rooms in a house, and I love to visit the INFP room. I am free in there and I feel like I can be expressive, silly, or serious, and it's accepted. I'll still float around!

When I go to a website that doesn't have dark mode as an option, it's torture. I have photophobia (where bright lights hurt my eyes and is painful). I remember back in the day before most websites offered dark mode, having to tweak with addons and screen brightness etc... I am "spoiled" now. I remember when FB didn't offer dark mode for the platform or for messenger, and o.m.g. HOW DID WE SURVIVE?! I remember thinking "this is the simplest code, why aren't they doing it?" and I remember when gifs wouldn't gif, how archaic to imagine. I also remember before emojis were the little yellow bubbles, and we had to be creative with what we had (our keyboards and symbols)... now it's all too easy! 🤣

I grew up with AIM, MSN messenger, and AOL chat. I also used IRC very early on. Ventrilo turned into Discord. The software landscape keeps changing. I wonder what it will all look like in another decade or two.

I'm in a grad school program for applied linguistics and the GDP sent out an email to our group letting us know there's an email list with linguistic publications, academic studies, etc. called the "ling grads" list. Of course I went to subscribe with my university email and it didn't work. I emailed the GDP right away and I let her know the problem. Come to find out, I was the only one who tried to subscribe to it. Now I am her guinea pig because she's trying to figure out why it doesn't work and getting IT involved, asking me to update her when it works, and so on. I find it both cute and sad I was the only one who tried to sign up, or if I wasn't the only one, no one else considered letting her know it wasn't working.

It is also so cute to receive "technical instructions" from university advisors or professors who think I don't know how to do it without their instruction. I just let them go through the programming/loop that they must do, nod and say yes, thank you so much - but inside I already know a faster or more efficient way to accomplish things. It's classic, and funny in a way - because they have a wealth of knowledge of their own that I don't have. There's no superiority or inferiority, only different areas of expertise.

My ex-husband used to tease me about being obsessed with skincare (I avoid the sun like a vampire), trying all kinds of products, getting makeup/skincare subscription boxes, etc. He used to open up my ipsy makeup bags and "review" them, it was hysterical. The products have ridiculous names and outlandish ingredients, and part of my adoration of the whole thing was because he made fun of it and we laughed about it.

I just found this, and omg, it's hysterical:

WTF is this?! ...it's weirdly cute. It's like a pink visor LED thing and it looks strangely cyberpunk. I love Bethenny, how she doesn't take herself seriously at all. The fact she's talking with it on like it's not ridiculous. I would totally try this out. It looks like she's about to be in a pinkified daft punk music video. The lengths we go to... 🤣
Cutest thing ever:
