Maybe it's just because I've been craving some new music but
What is your favorite song lyric? Or lyrics if you're wishy-washy like me

Which type(s) do you think the song is aimed at?

What type(s) do you think the writer(s) is/are?

...So we talked about mom's and dad's
About family pasts
Just getting to know where we came from
Our hearts were on display
For all to see
I can't believe this is happening to me

And I raised my hand as if to show you that I was yours
That I was so yours for the taking
I'm so yours for the taking
That's when I felt the wind pick up
I grabbed the rail while choking up
These words to say and then you kissed me...

I think this song is aimed at NFs. Other types may enjoy it as well; I dated an INTJ who really loved this song.

The lead singer of the band, Justin Furstenfeld, wrote this song.

I pretty sure Justin Furstenfeld is an INFP.

There was a bird
Whose wings were crushed
By a windshield

So fast to the ground,
The roadside it found
As its eyes closed

I heard the driver say,
As she pulled away
What could I have Done?
The worst is over

I thought to myself
With risk to our health
No one ever offers help

From Crib to Coffin-Emery
I feel like this is clearly an NF song. It's long so i won't post it but it's worth listening too. So much feeling from start to end

*"Changing Of The Guards"*

by Bob Dylan

Sixteen years
Sixteen banners united over the field
Where the good shepherd grieves
Desperate men, desperate women divided
Spreading their wings 'neath falling leaves.

Fortune calls
I stepped forth from the shadows to the marketplace
Merchants and thieves, hungry for power, my last deal gone down
She's smelling sweet like the meadows where she was born
On midsummer's eve near the tower.

The cold-blooded moon
The captain waits above the celebration
Sending his thoughts to a beloved maid*
Whose ebony face is beyond communication
The captain is down but still believing that his love will be repaid.

They shaved her head
She was torn between Jupiter and Apollo
A messenger arrived with a black nightingale
I seen her on the stairs and I couldn't help but follow
Follow her down past the fountain where they lifted her veil.

I stumbled to my feet
I rode past destruction in the ditches
With the stitches still mending beneath a heart-shaped tattoo
Renegade priests and treacherous young witches
Were handing out the flowers that I'd given to you.

The palace of mirrors
Where dog soldiers are reflected
The endless road and the wailing of chimes
The empty rooms where her memory is protected
Where the angel's voices whisper to the souls of previous times.

She wakes him up
Forty-eight hours later the sun is breaking
Near broken chains, mountain laurel and rolling rocks
She's begging to know what measures he now will be taking
He's pulling her down and she's clutching on to his long golden locks.
Gentlemen, he said I don't need your organization, I've shined your shoes
I've moved your mountains and marked your cards
But Eden is burning either brace yourself for elimination
Or else your hearts must have the courage for the changing of the guards.

Peace will come
With tranquillity and splendor on the wheels of fire
But will bring us no reward when her false idols fall
And cruel death surrenders with its pale ghost retreating
Between the King and the Queen of Swords.

Midnight winds are landing at the end of time
Midnight winds are landing at the end of time
In the morning of my winter
When my eyes are still asleep
In the morning of my winter
When my eyes are still asleep
A dragonfly lady in a coat of snow
I'll send to kiss your heart for me
A dragonfly lady in a coat of snow
I'll send to kiss your heart for me

-Nico, Evening Of Light.

If I had to guess I'd say Nico was an INTP. Song written for anyone on alot of drugs.

Daggers of moonlight murder the sheets
In the stink of a four dollar room.
And Daddy's gone a hunting
For a dime bag of schoolboy
Tied up with a yellow balloon.

So hush little baby Daddy must go.
I'll cover you up with a blanket of snow.
By the time I make Jersey, you'll be in heaven.
In a pretty old shoebox I know.

So sing a song of ten grand, with a pocket full of dope.
And I can't take you to Baltimore.
Wake God up in heaven, have him look down below.
There's a little lost angel blooming in the snow.

Tom Waits -Bronx Lullaby/Smuggler's Waltz.

I'd guess Tom is an INFJ. Song written for anyone who's snuffed out a newborn to do a drug deal.

Hi! Thanks for responding! And I like a lot of music but I think most of what I listen to can be classified as rock but just barely. And since my song list changes all the time. But I made a phone case with lyrics from a song called "Oats we sow" by Gregory and the Hawk. My favorite part is "someday I'll toss all your presents and bury the letters left unsent 'cause it's bad to do what's easy just 'cause it's easy I wanna do what pleases me but I can't oh no" Maybe it's just me but I don't know much about her since the interviews I've found are mostly her playing. So I can't answer my own question xD

I don't have the post count to embed a video, but In the Aeroplane Over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel (the song, not the full album, although I would highly recommend the album as well) is ridiculously INFP-ish. I don't think the lyrics are meant to be taken very literally, as they kind of go all over the place throughout the album (listen to it and you'll know what I mean). Pretty sure Jeff Mangum is INFP.

What a beautiful face
I have found in this place
That is circling all round the sun
What a beautiful dream
That could flash on the screen
In a blink of an eye and be gone from me
Soft and sweet
Let me hold it close and keep it here with me

And one day we will die
And our ashes will fly from the aeroplane over the sea
But for now we are young
Let us lay in the sun
And count every beautiful thing we can see
Love to be
In the arms of all I'm keeping here with me

What a curious life
We have found here tonight
There is music that sounds on the street
There are lights in the clouds
Anna's ghost all around
Hear her voice as it's rolling and ringing through me
Soft and sweet
How the notes all bend and reach above the trees

Oh how I remember you
How I would push my fingers through
Your mouth to make those muscles move
That made your voice so smooth and sweet
But now we keep where we don't know
All secrets sleep in winter clothes
The one you loved so long ago
Now he don't even know his name

What a beautiful face
I have found in this place
That is circling all round the sun
And when we meet on a cloud
I'll be laughing out loud
I'll be laughing with everyone I see

Can't believe how strange it is to be anything at all

Escape Route by Paramore currently is in my favourites list. It's a cheery song and I like it generally but these lyrics stick with me:

Just enough time to plan an escape route
I put my map on the wall in the basement
Not quite a victory to run from your problems
But it's the only plan that I got
It's the only plan that I got

And if you try to find me now
Whoa-oh-oh-oh!
I'm in all the echoes that have faded out
So I'm moving on
'Cause I just want to feel for once that I belong
That's what's going on
That's what's going on

@UtterMess seems of the opinion (IIRC) that Hayley Williams is an ENFP or a really cheery INFP, which I think is accurate judging by a few other songs as well.

I don't know what type it's aimed at. Maybe it resonates best with NFs, but as far as I'm concerned it was personally written for me.

Oh shes INFP, just with an extroverted edge. Which is really possible with any introvert type.

I think a lot of Paramore's music would relate to a lot of people, but most probably NF's as you suggested. Just listen to every single song of theirs like me and then you will understand. xD

Also these two lyrics from the Nirvana song "Serve the Servants":

"teenage angst has paid off well, now I'm bored and old"

and

"I tried hard to have a father, but instead I had a dad"

couldn't have been phrased more perfectly.
