This is an actual socionics personality test taken from the book "Understanding The People Around You: An Introduction to Socionics" by author Ekaterina Filatova, a well known expert and contributor to the theory of Socionics.

This book can be purchased off of Amazon.

Understanding the People Around You: An Introduction to Socionics: Ekaterina Sergeevna Filatova: 9780967990767: Amazon.com: Books

First create a table with 4 lines and 12 columns, such as this:

IIIIIIIVVVIVIIVIIIIXXXIXII

Fill in the columns by answering the questions one-by-one.

Each question contains two options, a) and b) respectively. Depending on your choice, you will need to put one of the following figures in a respective cell: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9:

Usually a) - 1;
Rather a) than b) - 3;
I cannot make a choice - 5;
Rather b) than a) - 7;
Usually b) - 9.

The column XI serves to add up the totals for columns I-X in each of the lines, and the column XII to enter the interpretation of numerical results using the key below.

(I strongly recommend you go through and completely answer all the questions before you click the following spoiler. Knowing how to decipher the test ahead of time may bias your answers and thus influence the clarity of your result.)

Deciphering the Test

When you add up your scores in each of the 4 lines, you will get your line totals in the column XI, which may vary between 10 and 90. When your score is between 45 and 55, the respective criterion is not determined for sure; otherwise, when it exceeds 55 or is less than 45, your result is rather reliable.

Line 1:10-45 - Extraversion55-90 - Introversion
Line 2:10-45 - Rationality55-90 - Irrationality
Line 3:10-45 - Ethics55-90 - Logic
Line 4:10-45 - Sensation55-90 - Intuition

Write in the column XII your results by each of the 4 dichotomies. Now you can find your psychological type using this table:

Also, some information about Ekaterina Filatova, the author of the test I just posted:

Wikisocion said:
Ekaterina Filatova lives in St. Petersburg, Russia. She was one of the early Russian socionists and helped spread socionics around Russia. She is known for her books with photographs of people of different types, many of which can be found on the Internet. It should be noted that Ekaterina Filatova did not herself use visual identification (at least in the popular sense of the word) to diagnose the types of the people in her books. She simply began to notice similarities between people of the same type and tried to capture them through photos. Some western readers have interpreted this to mean that she was promoting "V.I." Filatova's self-typing is EII.

I think it is because the results show that I am 'rational' which is equivalent to the 'J' in MBTI.

I am an INFJ, most definetly, which in socionics is equated to INFp.

So....

Blah.

Haha, I know, but apparently other people see it.
It's just that when going by the MBTI dichotomies I get xNTJ as well, so I thought this was funny.
I think Ti is the easiest function to see in these type of threads, irrespective of type. The very definition of it is pretty much what goes on in all type threads: analysis, linking, chunking, etc.

So if they're making the basis off of your posts here....then pretty much everyone has signed up for an LII refresher course.

I've gotten LII and ILE before. T'was interesting I must say. But I must say that you do have a point. I think Ti and Fi are fairly easy to point out in forum posts if anything.

Sorry. I meant that Ti is something that is going to be pretty heavily utilized, solely because the very nature of these typing threads requires it. Even if it is one of their "weaker" functions, we can't really see/gauge their discomfort from pure text.

I think people throw out Ti as a suspect base whenever they see people who can cogently form arguments. Of course, the better typers are more discriminate.

Right on with the point in bold there. I think those who are better at and more experienced with typing can also determine how well they use or how much they care for use of Ti or any function a little better.

I decided to take the test to see what I got. Well, as usual I have a vague result on one at least one dichotomy.

-Introversion (78)
-Rational/Irrational (52) Not Determined
-Logic (62)
-Intuition (60)

So I'm apparently either Logical-Intuitive Introvert or Intuitive-Logical Introvert, according to the test. Certain questions were hard to determine so I ended up putting 5 in there a few times.

@TreasureTower,

Basically you go down each column and you answer each of the questions on the test by putting one of the following numbers in the little box.

So for column I, question one, you put one of the following numbers in the very first box, top left corner.

Usually a) - 1;
Rather a) than b) - 3;
I cannot make a choice - 5;
Rather b) than a) - 7;
Usually b) - 9.

Then column I question 2 goes right beneath it, and question 3 beneath that, and question 4 beneath that.

Each column has 4 questions and that's why there are 4 boxes in each column.

At the end of the test you total up each row one at a time and you write the total for that row in the box under column XI. Since there are four rows, you'll have four totals.

Then you click the spoiler that tells you how to decipher your final result, and it will tell you your four-letter type, like INFj, or ESTp, or something like that.

I really can't figure out how to do this. :sad:

But, can't you tell from my post? I answered all of the questions in blue.
