Hello, warm greetings to you all, Personality Cafe members! :D

My username here is halalau --kinda rolls nicely, isn't it-- a pun to my real name, Lauren. So you could call me either of the names. I'd just entered college this September and so far the assignments had started kicking in, the folks there are awesome. I enjoyed the anonymity of being one of the crowds, I enjoyed the relaxed vibe among the students, I think I even developed a bolder sense of humor, or at least, it's just not "cute", it's more "funny" right now.

As I implied on the title, it is my very first time joining a community bounded by the interest of personality typing. I'd never took personality typing seriously before, since the "personality quizzes" that I took were "personality quizzes" for a reason, something like "Which Avatar Elements are You?" just-for-fun facebook quizzes.

And that my very first contact with MBTI was when I was too young to understand. It was a four-questions survey on the latter known to me as dichotomies at junior high school. I think I scored INFP, I remembered the counselor drawing a 4x4 table at the whiteboard to show who scored as what. I think most kids on my class were spread equally at the Extraverted types. And that none scored as ENTJ, which the counselor claimed as "the most ideal type for a class captain".

Not a very good start, isn't it :)) But I think I then viewed personality typing as a kind of flattery(?). I didn't know that it felt so good someone could "understand" me or tell me who I am without having personally "know" me in real life. And the concept of personality typing back then was very foreign here. Right now, is... idk how to put it gently. Most are youngsters like me, and they still think that it's another facebook quiz. But when I pass an MBTI or enneagram or socionics survey to my friends, I could see that they really started to be hooked to discover themselves.

It crossed my mind that I'm ahead of them right now. They still think it's fun and games, I've already passed the "denial" stage and got almost obsessed on learning more about myself. :p

Right now I still love learning personality typing theories with the sole purpose of discovering myself first. I concentrated at Jungian Cognitive Functions, since it still takes a lot of effort and time for me to understand one-by-one and how they work together. I've took MBTI in the past and mainly scored as NFs with one time ISFP I think. With socionics, I scored extraverted types several times, especially ENFP, ENFJ, and ESFP.

With independent reading, however, I think I'm tied with the introverted types, especially INFP and INFJ. I guess I just have to give myself more time, let my natural reactions developed without worrying which type I am acting like, and just do even more soul-defining. Defining, I think searching was pretty easy. Defining which of my discovery really reflects me is pretty hard. If it concerns personal reasons, it really is difficult for me to come to closure, since I've seen myself acting in different manners.

I'm planning to go to "What's my personality type?" to answer some questionnaires and hopefully got some enlightening answers. I'm on questions 28 out of 45 on the Value Test but I got bored halfway hehe.

Alrighty, folks. I hope my introductions satisfies. I'm really excited on meeting the Bot, and am curious to see who else might see my post. Nice to meet you all, safety and peace. :)
