WTF? I was expecting it to be Red.

What generation would her character have been, given that the series is set in the '70s?

Sad how drugs and alcohol have celebrities dropping like flies (probably lots of ordinary people too, just don't hear about them.) It is awful seeing how many people struggle with addiction.
I can attest to a lot of that having taken place particularly in the professional wrestling world over the past couple of decades. It was absolutely heartbreaking at one point just how many performers were dying off. And it made me angry as a fan because if that had been athletes or performers from any other, more mainstream genre of sports or entertainment, there would have been nothing short of an international outcry. Instead the vast majority of all those deaths went very much under the radar.

In real life, she's definitely a Gen Xer. Her character on that show is also earliest Gen X / Gen Jones assuming she was 18-19 in 1978 where the show's year is based on. That would mean she was born in 1960 or 1961???

"She told ABC News that her drinking problems stemmed from a miscarriage. "I had lost a baby," she said. "As a result of that, I lost it. I lost everything and I was abusing alcohol."

That breaks my heart :crying:

Not to generalized people, but she's definitely an Xer.

I suspect we're more drunk and drugged out than the generations before or after us.

We had the level of supervision of our grandparents and the drugs of our kids.

I had to quit drinking a couple of years ago. I had somehow managed to become a full-blown drunk.

Anyhow, I'm fine now. But stories like this... they make me very sad.

Wow, just picked up on this. That's sad. She was the same age as my younger brother, a year behind me. She was great on that show, I watched it all the time. Brought back a lot of memories.
